So what was the last manga you read to the end? Was it any good? Oh, and to clarify: When I say "finished," I'm talking about reading the entirety of a manga that the creator has finished. Catching up on a manga that's still ongoing doesn't count.

The last one I read was Grand Guignol Orchestra. Not that great; the art was decent but not outstanding, and the story never grabbed hold of me, so to speak. All in all, 5/10.

I haven't finished any recently, I'm in the middle of a dozen or so. I think the last one was Good Ending. It was a romance/comedy/slice-of-life manga and the first half was pretty good. Then it got a little fan service heavy and the ending came out of nowhere. Overall, I give it a 6/10.

Katekyo Hitman Reborn. The ending was complete nonsense and it was obvious it'd been abruptly cancelled.

Shounen mangas run too long sometimes.

finished 2 yesterday
1) Caramel a romantic yaoi title. It is yaoi-lite though. Kind of fun and light hearted story if you can get past the weird more or less "sexual assault". I love the art style.

2) Girl friends a highschool romance title. This genre is shoujoai/yuri seeing the rating is 16+ it is even more yuri-lite then Caramel (rated 18+). The story is really cute. Fotr me it beats most shoujoai titles i read (doesn't beat maria-sama ga miteru though)

Death Note. I just started reading manga this year, so I decided to go with the big ones that everyone knows first. Right now, I'm switching back and forth between Bleach and Bakuman.

Uh i'm up to date more or less with Medaka Box and The World God Only Knows if that counts as "finished", they are both totally freaking sweet. In TWGOK's case, the shit they pulled with the main character in the newest arc would have REALLY pissed me off if it were written any other way. I hate child characters so much.

I leave them both about a month then power read the 4 or 5 chapters that have stacked. 19-ish pages are fuck all when you have mad reading speedz yo'

Actually finishing one would take me back though, ah Bakuman was the last one I finished I believe. I was a bit late because of the aforementioned month leaving (except I left this one about 2 and a half months) but it was pretty good. Still a bit unsure why a manga about creating a manga exists though... Sure it's a good drama thing but the amount of cool manga the two main characters dream up look good enough to be manga of their own. They probably used some old scrap manga they never finished or a concept they never fleshed out to throw into Bakuman though.

Is Liar Game finished yet? I think I got off its hiatus ages ago now but I randomly stopped reading. It has a really interesting story with some cool characters but the art is... Well. Not so good to put it lightly. I think later on they refine it and I get the impression it pokes fun at itself for being so crap and it works in the manga's favour in the long run.

OH SHIT! I was just reading through the above post about yuri and i'm suddenly reminded about KissXSis... BRB checking how many updates there's been since I last looked. It's interesting to see just how much shit they are trying to get away with now. It turns into exploring a new fetish per issue from a point. Fucking awesome XD

I caught myself up with Nana to Kaoru and Deadman Wonderland. Sucks that they both have rather long update schedules...

Thing is, I'm talking about reading a manga from start to finish, and they aren't finished yet.

Nothing really then, aside from Akira. But I finished that half a year ago, so I just decided to give some manga that I had caught up on to contribute.

Awesome, awesome manga. Art, plot, characters,... everything was really, really good. I haven't seen the movie, though. I guess I'm trying to find good manga (and somewhat getting a fine backlog along the way).

Two actually, one very good while the other is eh.
SHIGURUI, has very, very good art and a smartly written story. Plus it's one of the few samurai mangas that doesnt romanticise them but rather shows that they can be very petty, underhanded, and quite cruel. Hell sometimes they can even act like ninjas. Add in a cast that doesnt conform to steriotypes, are moraly ambiguous, and are complex enough for you to be won over by them or against them. That ending, very shocking indeed.
The other is ALIEN NINE, which has okay art and an alright cast. While at the begining it looks to be setting up something interesting, it just ends up with a tepid reveal. Shiz is short though. While I thought the first three volumes were okay I thought volume four was crap. I forgot how much I hated the last minute shallow love interest, which is so prevalent in manga unfortunately.

The last one I finished was Death Note when I decided to reread it, but on the whole I don't buy that much manga any more, but when I was over at a friend's house I found myself reading through volumes 1-9 of Black butler which I found quite enjoyable. Earl Phantomhive gets on my nerves a little bit though.

After finishing Mirai Nikki a few months back, I was recommended Elfen Lied and then I ended up finishing that series in a few weeks. It was pretty good and fairly short, which is good for me. Instead of a manga going into that phase where they want to elongate a series by adding meaningless filter or subplots that do not serve the story at all, Elfen Lied goes at it on all cylinders and has a strong, open ended finish.

Not that big of a manga reader, truth be told. However, I re-read xxxHolic by Clamp recently (hasn't finished, though, which is annoying, because it's a very good series that just needs resolution... :/ ). Same with Ragnarok by Myung-jin Lee, I mean seriously, when is his freakin' hiatus from the manwha going to end?!

The last manga that I properly finished was probably Aria absolutely ages ago. And I loved that series, dippy characters, lush backgrounds and an easy going plot.

I hope to finish Gunslinger Girl some point... man, it's such a punch-to-gut series...

Last one I finished was Puella Magi Kazumi Magica: The Innocent Malice, a Madoka Magica spin-off.

It was alright, I guess. It had its moments, but it lost me several times, and for most of the action sequences I had no goddamn clue as to what the hell was going on. Not my favorite of the Madoka spin-offs. I liked Oriko Magica, and The Different Story was fantastic.

Before that, though, I was reading through a few one-shots by Shintaro Kago.

After that I started reading Mahou Shoujo of the End, which I encourage everyone to read right now. It's a zombie apocalypse manga, but instead of zombies, it's magical girls, and it's just as ridiculous as it sounds.

I guess that was Ral Omega Grad which was a year or so ago (I stop reading manga). The last volume was pretty much rush but overall it's an alright manga despite the ecchi ness to it (the protaganist only fought for the human so he can grope his sexy mentor boobs).

Finished finished would be Hoozuki no Shima, The Island of Shima (if the translation was right). It was damned trippy, and I didn't see the ending coming, and no I refuse to spoil it.

What I can say is that my friend and I stumbled onto it and had to HAD TO finish it in one night because we had waaaaay too many questions on what the heck was going on that got resolved in the end. It also happened to have some very satisfying tortures happen to some wacked out perv who was stalking the young girl of the group. We could've made a game of doing shots every time he gets his ass kicked, but I digress.

It's general story is a brother and sister about elementary school, maybe middle school age, get shipwrecked on an island. The island has an orphanage on it with a principal, three teachers and I think 5-6 other kids all with their own backstories and issues, which do get explored. The kids have a rumor of missing children, the adults collecting insurance money, rinse repeat, and it just goes on from there. I would recommend the read, though it it probably not for anyone <18ish since it has some gory fights, bloody backstory, and pervy scenes n whatnot (standard horror manga fair)
