I sit here realizing that I've been up for almost 36 hours straight. I don't even feel tired now (maybe I don't need sleep anymore), but I want to wonder what everyone's longest record is, and what it is that kept you going for so long, and if anything weird happened while you were awake.

My longest record is 36 hours and going. I haven't had any assistance from caffeine or any other stuff and about 12 hours ago I started hallucinating the smiledog.jpg from a creepy stories thread which in a way has kept me up in fear, but I've gotten over him now, and stopped hallucinating.

ummm i think my best record was just after 3 days. I have no idea why i was up that long but I do remember falling asleep on the toilet after watching the dust in my bathroom (which had been sitting there for a week) dancing to an unheard tune.

Hmm, lemme calculate. Up at 7, up all day, concert 'till 11, back home at 12, school trip to London at 1, back from the trip at 12 midnight again, back home at 1, in bed at 1:30.

That's 42 and a half hour. I think that's about my record.

6 1/2 days ... can't remember why, but I nearly had a complete mental breakdown. I still remember the little black ninja cats that would climb the walls and ceilings and pounce on me.

3 days, 14 hours and 22 minutes. I'll never, ever take up one of my friends on a bet like that one again...I literally passed out about 5 feet from my bed. It was too much work to finish getting there at that point.

Let's see. I've done 40 hours more than once. Not good.

Longest? probably about 56 hours. - it was fine for the most part, but right towards the end it was an effort to keep my eyes open regardless of what I was doing.

No hallucinations or anything weird though; But it's not pleasant, because I start to feel really worn out even before I get to the point where I can't keep my eyes open anymore.

About two days straight. By the end of it, you feel unwell. Like you're overheating or something, and breathing feels strained at times. It's a weird sensation.

And sometimes you're SO tired, you have trouble getting to sleep. (wtf?)

i remember staying up 3 days straight playing FF11 during the summer like 3 years back or so. It got to the point where I thought my guy was riding a bycicle in a clown outfit, and if you dont know, in ff11 you lost XP everytime you die. I lost 4 levels before passing out on my keyboard.

54 hours with a couple of 15-25 min naps.

38 hours straight with no sleep at all.

It is really easy to do when you are busy doing work the entire time.

35 hours with no sleep at all, but there was this week in a military training excersice when we slept a total of 6h spread out to 5 days. People were beginning to hallucinate at the end of it and to stop working meant instantly falling asleep.

Roughly 72 hours... And, to make it even worse, that included a night of drinking and one of taking sleeping tablets (but not falling asleep, just wandering around drowsy and confused).

Needless to say, a friend and I found ourselves lost in the woods in another country on the other side of the world wearing very little clothing as it started to snow.

The trip was planned, but we were very lost and delerious after getting drunk before getting on the plane. Don't ever drink before a flight.

A little less than 4 days. It was New Year's Eve from around 6 in the morning through that night to watch the ball drop and hang with friends, then the next night I didn't sleep for some reason, Followed by a night I couldn't sleep, then I passed out around 4 in the morning after that.

I think people should quantify the activity they were doing when they weren't sleeping. One user said he was awake playing video games...that's a bit different than say, going to Ranger school.
