Unlimited Saga. It took me half an hour to figure out how to move on that craptastic world map of theirs.

I hate that game so much.

WoW, hands down. I'm very glad I didn't actually have to pay anything to try it, because it bored me nearly to sleep every time I played. I shit you not.

Oblivion is a runner-up, of course.

The Sims. Once the novelty of absolute control wore off, I just found myself thinking 'Oh you're hungry? There's food over there. We've been through this. Do it your self.' Telling them to do exactly the same things every two minutes became a damn chore.

final fantasy tactics.

the Sims.

most grind fest in general actually. though if it has a great storyline or some other redeeming quality, I usually stick it through. fun though? few grind fest games would make me call them "fun"

oddly enough, I love harvest moon. go figure.

Yeah, but you can torture your sims. That's more amusing than anything I did in WoW (at least, anything I couldn't have done in an actual chatroom). It is more boring than Oblivion, though.

the original halo, I just drove somewhere, shot things, then drove elsewhere. Halo 2 is just as boring for going back to that fucking halo, at least the third had the decency to make that level short.

If was mostly fun the first time through, way back in '01 but Halo CE has not aged well, IMO. I just didn't like Halo 2 at all.

Folks listing games like Halo, WoW and Mass Effect make me question how many games they've played in their lives.

Let's see...just about any Kingdom Under Fire game ever is boring, but nothing really tops Circle of Doom in that department. It's a technically competent and decent looking action RPG, but it seems all they had was mathematicians for designers, so the loot you get is the sort that gives you a 0,01% increase on damage and so on. The AI is also bad to the point that you can hit enemies from a safe distance with ranged attacks over and over and over again till they die...they rarely even get off their asses to attack you. And yeah, the game has virtually no story at all.

Then there was Exile on the A500, which at the time was a very impressive game technically...shame it was just no fun to play. At all.

Cossacks II has to rank up there for me, but also a really dodgy RTS I played many a year ago called Three Kingdoms: Fate of the Dragon.

A shitload of them. But none of the hundreds of games I've rented, bought, or borrowed has ever managed to literally put me to sleep, save WoW. Every other game either showed how shitty it was before it got to that point, or had some redeeming quality that kept some inkling of interest alive within me. WoW did not.

My list of 'boring games' is small because I will usually cease playing them as soon as they show themselves as such, and forget about them.

Ugh, there are so many ties for most boring game ever in my book.

Runescape: Ugly, boring and tedious.

Any Metal Gear Solid game. The story makes no sense, the combat is poorly executed, and even the characters tend to feel as if even they have no idea what the hell is going on.

Hellgate London. It felt like playing a MMORPG, but unlike Warcraft, it was boring and stupid. To many 'Go collect X amount of objects or kill Y amount of monsters or find some random item which you pretty much have to walk all the way to the moon to get' quests without having a semi engaging backstory like WoW.
(Yes, I know WoW isn't everyones cup of tea, but I enjoyed it, so please don't quote my reply saying stupid crap like "LOL, WoW was teh booring! I hateed it, U should die LOL!"

Any JRPG.

Azurik: Rise of Perathia for the Xbox.

I'd say Runescape, but everyone's said that already, so I'll give EvE Online an honourable mention for the hours I've spent drifting through space en route to some asteroid field.

Most Boring? prob Riddle of the Sphinx for the old Atari

However Xenosaga episode 1 is a close second.Only game where I've played all night and fell asleep in a long cutscene, only to wake up and still be in the same cutscene. Not to mention the storyline makes no sense.plus the combat is boring as well as the dungeon crawling, with its crate destroying aspect.

Final Fantasy Tactics. I love most FF games, but this one was a drag.I guess I love the open world aspect, so when I got to travel from place to place on a pathlane I was disappointed.

Harvest Moon!!

and Descent for the 64
