Yeah the Halo pistols after Combat Evolved were just sad...but I guess that's what pistols are supposed to be against Spartans. The Spartan laser looked so awesome in Beta at the very least, but the Hammer of Dawn is freaking sweet IMHO.

hmm, the most dissapointing?... probably the Laser in F.E.A.R2, it was cool at first, but I expected it to have more, hmm, I guess *hmph* would be the operative word.

I found the flamethrower in COD:5 most disapponting, no real use for it and putting it in the 1st perk slot made it terribly under-used

The pistol in Half-Life 2. It feels more like a plastic toy gun than a real gun if you ask me. The revolver is pretty cool though. Unfortunately I'm more of a pistol guy. Also, I didn't like the constant reloading of HL2's weapons. Sure, it's more realistic, but I'm a follower of the "reload after the end credits" school of thought.

Dual Silverballers in Hitman games. One is cool (-), but when you get two of these things it's kinda like a double negative and the end result is pretty lukewarm.

All the melee weapons in Fallout 3 are terrible. No range or damage. I started the game thinking "damn I'd love a killer sword." The Chinese Officers sword does almost no damage.
Just proves the saying "Don't bring a knife to a gun fight"

The mini gun is a pile of ass, same with the assult rifles. The spray on them is insane, even crouched and firing in short bursts. The lincoln repeater is great, just need more 44 ammo.
The Chinese officers sward must be a misprint in the game, because what I used seemed to be a Chinese officers butter knife.

That being said the shishkabob (flaming sward) wasn't that bad, and even if you just grazed the enemy could set them on fire.

The mini gun I assume shot high velocity foam nerf darts, considering after 100 bullets were used on a single super mutant his health bar had twitched at best. I would expect an enemy showered with 100 bullets (even "5mm") to look like a cross between ground beef and Swiss cheese.
Ever see the "Viewers Special 2" Mythbusters(s6e5)? They cut a tree in half and set it on fire with a minigun! That's what I want, the minigun should unleash unholy hell.

The flamethrower in Halo 3. It has the size of a motorbike, but it fails. 90 % of the time you try to use it you fail and die right after you killed someone. Hate it.

(I hope it's OK to resuscitate a thread; I think this one goes along with the "most pathetic weapon" one)

The railgun from Quake 4. Coming from Quake 2, where one or at most two railgun shots would kill pretty much everything, and having scrupolously avoided multiplayer-only Q3A, I was very disappointed that Q4's railgun was just a peashooter whose peas happened to leave a twirly trail behind them. Few were the enemies you could kill before having to reload the (three-shot!) magazine.

Thankfully, Q4's guns are easy to mod...
