Ostrich. The farmer I got it from said they are trying to replace turkey with ostrich for Thanksgiving because "this bird is bigger." And while I can't refute that statement, I will never replace turkey with ostrich. It tastes like spoiled beef and smells like it, too. Besides I'd rather have an All-American bird for my Thanksgiving dinner. I had a much more positive experience with venison.

Crocodile, Boar, Human, Ostrich, Venison, Springbok. We've got a good selection of European cuisines around here.
So you too have tried the oh so delicious long pig.

The most juicy and tender meat is usually American, quite good wouldn't you say?

Venison, buffalo, pheasant and bear. Deer isn't really exotic when your dad would get one every year. Makes great jerky. I don't like buck meat, too much testosterone and I can smell it when it is cooking. Other than that, all of it was very yummy and if I could afford buffalo I would eat it exclusively.

Edit: Oh yea, frog legs. Papa used to go gigging. Poor frogs.

I stick to my own thank you. Those extra verterbrae were the best surgery I ever had.

I had Reindeer meat once. It was done up in a sausage for tourists that looked like a peperami so it probably didn't taste close to a steak, but it did have a picture of a reindeer on the packet.

I've had zebra burger in my university cafeteria, that was quite nice. Rather gamey, not too far removed from venison if I'm honest.

The greatest thing was leg of goat though. In our house last year (background: students in England) we decided we'd do roast dinner every Sunday. Good chance to chill out, cook a massive meal and chat, and sometimes we'd invite people from other houses over too to join us. But on the side we made another agreement - that every week we'd cook a different kind of meat. Started out alright with all the basics - gammon, lamb, pork, beef, chicken... Then it got a little more difficult after not too long. Moved on to things like poussin, guinea fowl, pigeon, goose (close to Christmas time I think that one was) - but the absolute crowning moment of awesome was when we went to one of the butchers in the market near us in London and got a leg of goat. Basted it in (I think it was) a rub of orange juice, rum and honey, with orange zest. Various herbs, roast as if it were lamb, done. One of the most delicious meals I think I've had.

(Then there were ridiculous things like this Christmas just gone - I'm on an exchange in Germany atm and a few days before we all went home for Christmas I did a two-goose roast. Protip: Cooking what is essentially 10kg of meat on the same roasting-hot tray, with goose fat spitting from it... That's surprisingly challenging. Especially when you have to improvise for something to get the tray out of the oven with... But absolutely DELICIOUS.)

Well, there was this one thing in my fridge that I ate, it was either meat or or a muffin, I couldn't figure out which. I've also had Ostrich and Snake. The Snake was pretty good actually.

whale(only legal in three countries i think, except an inuit/eskimo reservation),
shark (strictly speaking not meat, fish),
ostrich,
venison,
buffalo/bison,
moose,
bear,
boar,
reindeer (one of my favorite smoked laps/sami are awesome for this stuff),
gazelle (central asian not sure what its called in english),
snake(diamond back i think),
gator,
frog (asian and french),
crocodile,
eel (although not sure its that exotic),
snake,
razor clams (not uncommon but most people dont know they are edible and tasty),
quail,
pheasant,
rabbit/hare/coney,
squab,
baby mountain goat,
rocky mountain oysters/sweet breads/brains/marrow/liver/kidneys/heart (pretty much of anything listed and the common lamb, goat, beef, veal, variety... and yest except the testicles I enjoy most of these things when well prepared;)

things i wouldn't eat to try
Horse,
dog,
cat,
monkey (any semian really a little cannibalistic).

things I wouldn't ever order in a restaurant because I think they shouldnt be killed for food in normal course of events (and feel free to call me a hyopocrite because most of these I have tried;),

whale,
shark,
octopus.

one thing i am curious about is lamprey. It seems like could be fun

cool thread by the way!

I have eaten a Quarian....if you know what i mean.
HAHA classy!

OT: one of my life goals is to eat 2 of everything I can, kind of like a bizzaro Noah, so I have eaten my fair share of things. (Remember, eating the meat of lesser animals makes you stronger, but eating the meat of greater animals makes you a champion)

EDIT:I'm going with the definition of exotic meaning hard or impossible to find in a store or something that most people haven't had.

Some of the weirder/tastier:
Pronghorn
Bear
Squirrel
Seal
Eel (though not that weird if you enjoy sushi)
Goat
Grasshoppers, ants, other insects

(before I get hate from a bunch of bleeding hearts, besides the fact that I don't care, I am a conservation biologist, so I will eat what I want)

Jellyfish. It's about like chewing a rubber band. Also shark fin soup which is pretty damn tasty.

Couldn't tell you. Never eaten one *sleazy wink*

Plus, I'd imagine eating testicles to be a thoroughly unpleasant experience. I mean... just... gross.
They serve it fried, with dipping sauce. You could feed it to someone and they wouldn't even realize they had balls in their mouth.

How is deer exotic? Exotic means rare. Deer isn't rare in most parts of the world. Nor is rabbit. They're both tasty.

Anyway, I've had ostrich and gator jerky before. They were okay. I guess liverwurst would count because it's fairly rare here in 'Merica. It's delicious, by the way.

I just had some crocodile filets and i actually quite enjoyed it. A very light and delicate flavor which contrasts ironically with the animals nature :p

My question to you: what would you say the most exotic meat you've eaten has been?
Ostrich and crocodile.
