For me its X Men Origins Wolverine and Arkham Asylum. Origins is the only movie game (other than Spiderman 2) to actually be fun and I did not expect AA to be fun because no other superhero game has been that fucking awesome.

I rather enjoyed Too Human for a month on end. And I will stand by my decision that it was a decent game at least, if you take the bugs out of the game at least.

Another would have been The Force Unleashed. I don't know why. Guess I just find it fun destroying things in increasing different ways constantly.

I had never played a Final Fantasy game before I tried Final Fantasy XIII.

And FUCK that was a good game! The plot was so good, the characters were so detailed (and one guy was so hot) and it gave me a good challenge at some points. I also loved the gameplay and enjoyed all the scenery, especially in Chapters 11,12,and 13.

Of course, one boss was a little too much of a challenge, but I disagree with Yahtzee; this was one of the best games I've ever played.

After being universally panned as terrible, I played Alpha Protocol and really enjoyed it. The game play mechanics were pretty solid and I only had a few glitches but the social interactions and different choices the game gives you are just fun and I was very pleasantly surprised.

I once played a game called Sheep Raider for the Playstation. It was a Looney Toons game in which you played as Ralph the Wolf (Wile E. Coyote, but with a red nose) and tried to steal sheep from Sam the Sheepdog's herd. Sounds horrible, right? I thought so too.

To my great surprise, it's actually really, really fun. The game's levels are essentially gigantic Zelda puzzles where you use various Acme products and elements of the environment to nap sheep without being spotted. It's quite an addictive little game.

Me and my sister had good fun with the Sonic Riders game that my brother bought then forgot about. I still think it was pretty fun, although the Wii one was absolute shiat.

Mount&Blade. I was expecting a little diversion and tried it mostly on the insistence of people who played it before I did...and it ended up being one of my top ten all-time favorite games.

Why did you think the Force Unleashed would be bad?

I expected fragile dreams for the wii to be a generic jrpg but it ended up being so much more. If only its combat was better than maybe more people would have played it.

Arkham Asylum. Really didnt know what to expect, like i do with most games, so i was surprised to find it was excellent, even though i knew it was supposed to be.

It has a lot of negative reviews at launch, including big bugs, an untitled last level, and twitchy gameplay targeting system. X-Play gave it a 1 out of 5, and many others almost the same, so that's why I assumed it would be bad. Though I do not let reviewing sites make my final call on a game.

Honestly, I gave up with X-Play a long time ago. They'll go on and on about how great the game is, make a couple dumb jokes, mention one or two little flaws, leading up to a 5 out of 5, then they give it a 3 or 4. It just bugs me.

On topic, 'Splosion Man. My original idea of the game was "You run, you explode, that's it. Sounds kinda boring.", until I actually tried the demo and eventually bought the game. Absolutely blew my expectations and became one of the best arcade games I've bought.

I was pretty sure that Bayanetta was going to be exactly like Devil May Cry only with a gender switch and quadruple sex appeal.

Say for the added sex appeal, I was dead wrong.

It was just a total blast from start to finish. Insane and hilariously selfaware story, interesting characters, beautiful levels, amazing boss fights, and perhaps the most ridiculously awesome combat in gaming history.

This is a damn fine game.

Men of War is a shockingly good game. Not because you wouldn't expect it to be terribly bad from screenshots or anything, but it's shocking because I never know a game could be this good. You're a bad person if you haven't tried the free steam demo.

Probably Resident Evil 5 for me. I hadn't really played another RE game except for RE4, and I heard of alot of negative feedback about it, but after playing it for a while, it has become one of my most favourite games of all time. It's campy, it's cinematic, it has incredibly fun arcade style gameplay, and it has a somewhat good mixture of both horror and action, that I don't go and run out of the room, pissing myself. I may be in the slim minority, but I love that game.
