I'm asuming you have all your games, dating back to 19whatever date, so what is the oldest game you have in your collection, what is the newest game in your collection, which one do you prefer and why? :D

Oldest would be Doom (1993). Newest would be Portal 2 (2011). Doom wins for being simply the greatest FPS of all time.

The oldest: Micro Maniacs, still have it, my most favourite racing game in the whole world. Quite the original release for the PS1 from Codemasters... it's a pity I sold my PS1 years ago and yet kept hold of the game.

The newest: Duke Nukem Forever, I felt misled buying this game. I thought that shit was going to be awesome but... failed to astound me.

Verdict: I would prefer Micro Maniacs, without a doubt. Insane story premise (mad scientist plans to solve the universal resource problem by shrinking the whole population to the size of your index finger, what's not to love? FOR SCIENCE!), memorable and quirky characters each with their own awesome abilities, bitching race tracks... I could go on.

Oldest - King's Quest 1.
Newest - Portal 2.

Out of those I prefer Portal 2, King's Quest is good but it's not as good as Space Quest and it uses some crazy logic.

Oldest-Adventure for the Atari 2600 I never owned.
Newest-L.A. Noire
Verdict-Well, never played Adventure. So I guess I have to give it to L.A. Noire. But....it is SO boring! So I give the award to Portal 2, the SECOND newest game I have.

Oldest would probably be Mario 3 on the NES. That or Zelda 2, I'm not sure which came first.

Newest hardcopy would be BlazBlue Continuum Shift on Xbox. Got a couple of games that I bought later than that, but in release date terms BlazBlue CS is my newest.

Oldest are Tales of Destiny, Grandia, and Oddworld for PS1. All say 1997 on the back.

Newest is Catherine.

Prefer Grandia.

Oldest that's still in my collection is Ocarina of Time, I believe (oldest I've since parted ways with was Frogger). Newest is The Witcher 2 (for a few more days until Deus Ex gets released).

Hmm... well, I haven't had a chance to really get into the meat of The Witcher 2 yet, so it's not really a fair call here. However, I've been having fun with it, and as good as Ocarina was, it shows its age. I may have to throw the nostalgia goggles to the floor and give this one to The Witcher 2 (but bear in mind, that's subject to change once I actually play more than a few hours of the game).

1985. Super Mario Brothers. Doesn't everyone have that game?
The newest would be Catherine. It's a few weeks old. Well...at least it is in America.

^This. I'm suprised so few people have said this, especially when several have listed NES titles. The Original SMB is my oldest game as well.

Newest game? Gonna have to check my steam library... With the possible exception of some of the games from the latest Humble Bundle, Portal 2 is my newest.

That would be the original system shock. That game still holds up today in my opinion.
