The oldest: Micro Maniacs, still have it, my most favourite racing game in the whole world. Quite the original release for the PS1 from Codemasters... it's a pity I sold my PS1 years ago and yet kept hold of the game.

The newest: Duke Nukem Forever, I felt misled buying this game. I thought that shit was going to be awesome but... failed to astound me.

Verdict: I would prefer Micro Maniacs, without a doubt. Insane story premise (mad scientist plans to solve the universal resource problem by shrinking the whole population to the size of your index finger, what's not to love? FOR SCIENCE!), memorable and quirky characters each with their own awesome abilities, bitching race tracks... I could go on.
Man I remember that stuff. I was obsessed with them as a kid, reading the comics everyday and checking out their webpage, but I never ended up getting the game. Damn shame too because I just assumed it would be a sub par racer.

Oldest: ET 2600. I'm surprised to see how many people played this, but then again, who wouldn't want to play a game that's so bad that most of the copies got buried in a landfill?
Newest: Duke Nukem Forever, which everyone except me seems to hate.

The oldest game in my collection is Pong. The newest is Pilotwings Resort. Although neither will make my favorites list, I prefer Pilotwings. Simple, fun, and I get to fly around an island with glasses-free 3D.

Edit: Well, Pong is my oldest going by original release date, not release date of the version I bought. It's part of those nifty Atari re-releases. I also have Asteroids and Combat in their original carts, but I'm too lazy to look up their release dates.

I have a knife edge: nose gunner cartridge for N64 lying around in a bag somewhere. I doubt it still works but I have it. That would probably be the oldest (my first N64 game). I think my newest, in terms of release date, would be Dragon Age 2. Hands down I prefer dragon age 2. Knife Edge... just blows.

Stronghold, the DnD game from 1993. I could probably find some slightly older games than that, somewhere in the attic or old cupboards, but that's the oldest one I found with a quick glance. Newest game I own is kind of hard with the amount of digital copies and lack of a physical box, I think that's Terraria from 2011.

Oldest: Ultima 1 original 1986 released[footnote]You have no idea how hard it was to track this down ._.[/footnote]. Newest would probably be Terraria. Prefer Terraria over Ultima 1 since Ultima 1 wasn't that great.

The oldest i actually have a physical copy of would be probably Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles NES cartrige along with Tetris Gameboy Cartrige, both from 1989, sadly lost the first Super Mario Bros. one somewhere.

Not sure about when Operation Wolf had it's DOS port tho, and that along with first Prince of Persia make my oldest PC games i still do have floppies of.

Oldest is Super Mario Land.

Newest (I'm guessing you mean by release date) is Portal 2.

Kinda hard to compare the two, but I guess I'd have to give it to Portal 2.

Super Mario Bros. 3-1988
Fallout: New Vegas-2010
I love them both but they definitely scratch different itches
the first is fun in a wild, fast platformer (more easily described as a mario game)
the 2nd is a complicated rpg where I constantly need to be thinking in the long term
don't make me pick man

The oldest game I have in my collection? That I acctually have?

Well, since I can't find any of my older games, it would probably have to be mario kart 64.

I have a knack for losing old games...

My newest one? Super street fighter 4 arcade edition. :>

Sonic the NOT FOR RESALE Hedgehog, and Section 8 Prejudice.

And Sonic wins, obviously. Can't say there's many games I've been playing consistently since I was 2.
