Almost any review by Gamespot. They are rarely right about anything. Even when they are, it's usually because they're just floating on a wave of popular opinion. And on the off chance they aren't following the crowd and I don't disagree with their score, their reviews themselves will tend to suck.

My ONE least favorite review, however, is the 3/10 IGN God Hand review. I hate that worthless jumble of letters that somehow found its way into publication.

A certain EUROpean GAMER website wrote a review of Bioshock, giving it a perfect 10/10.

So shamed were they by fan backlash they actually got bold enough to write an article in defence of their own review and the game. A small victory.

I like to read the EuroGamer reviews for entertainment value (several of their reviewers have writing styles that I like) but I've learned not to trust their scores, which tend to be wildly innacurate IMO. GameSpot give more consistent scores but I agree with Xerosch: they highly overrate the value of multiplayer.

I'd really like to find a good review site for SP games. It seems to me that not enough game critics are actually critical... except Yahtzee, of course, who is very critical but seems to pay very very little attention to the games he reviews, and consequently gets a lot of stuff just plain wrong (albeit in a highly entertaining fashion).

I don't really go by reviews but I still can't believe Yahtzee actually liked No More Heroes.

I always thought he hated quick time events and tedium and that game had the cheapest quick time events and reeked of tedium from the overworld to the minigames to even the boss levels.

A user review I saw on Gamestop for VC.

"I got this game hearing that it was awesome and was one of the best games out there. So as soon as I got it I couldn't wait to play it. As soon as I played the first mission I knew this game was horrible. First of all u have to move the players one by one. You also cant walk where u want to. I got this game thinking it would be like a fable 2 but for the ps3. I dont know how u guys see the good things in this game when there is none! When u shoot people words pop up on the screen like RaTTat and all that dumb stuff. This game is nothing like I thought it would be! This is one of those games whereas soon as u play it u hate it..Seriously, I am not even joking. This made me never want to buy another RPG game for the ps3 again. I hope any one doesn't buy this game. This game is horrible. Its like playing chess but the characters shoot each other. This game is like pokemon. U take turns fighting with the computer. I hope that they come out with an RPG game for the ps3 worth playing. I a not a fan of this game at ALL! Please dont get this game. I'm trying to save u the trouble."

It's like Chess but with guns!

The two reviews that come to mind are IGN's 10 out of 10 GTAIV review, and PC Gamer's 91% review of Dungeon Siege (This was back when I actually trusted PC Gamer's reviews.)

Oh... and every glowing review of Resident Evil 4. God that game was over rated.

I disagree with any review that has a perfect score or has a decimal in there. The decimal system is annoying because it is impossible to justify why one game gets an 8.6 and another gets a 8.7. No game, no matter how easy to play, no matter how attractive it looks, no matter how fun it is, is perfect. There will always be more and better games out there. Nitpicking gets on my nerves because if people find the smallest bugs in game and if that ruins some of the game, then they are better off not playing it.

The Zero Punctuation Jericho review.

Mainly because several of the things he says are just flat out incorrect.

When he talks about the pillbox area, he says you order your team mate to sneak up behind them and drop a grenade in with a button that quote "Has not up until now been used and will indeed never be used again." Except for the fact that you take control of this team mate , not order them, and you use her to slow down time, not sneak, in order to drop the grenades in using the ACTION BUTTON it's used for every door and lever and other miscellaneous action in the god damn game.

And the team wasn't a "Spectrum of political correctness" there were 3 white women, two white guys, a black guy, and a mexican guy. Only one of the guys was "Big and macho" and none of the women were quote "Hot sassy chicks"

And his remark about them always spouting infuriating one liners and stereotypical macho bullshit, one of the women was a mildly autistic girl with several phobias, she rarely spoke and it was never anything macho or sassy. one of the guys is a damn priest, the black guy is more of historian than a combatant, hell the only actually macho one was the mexican, and that was his role.

I didn't agree wit hthe review at all, but whatever you know? Opinions are opinions, it was just that the parts I mentioned weren't really opinions as they were flat out incorrect.

I cant really disagree with any review, exept gamfaqs. I just dont like their reviews. They idolize too much. For others, i find that a lot of the things i liked are really looked at close up by the reviews and i find out that im stuck in the 'new-release-hype'.

G4's review of Red Orchestra
http://g4tv.com/xplay/reviews/1198/Red_Orchestra_Ostfront_4145.html
They complained that the game sucked because there were no crosshairs, ammo counters, or health bars. And they also complained that the reload was too slow, despite the fact that it is not much slower than that of other WWII games. They also claimed that the game sucked because there were no crosshairs, and you have to use the iron sights. Basically, they complained that it wasn't a mindless mashing of CoD and CS with people bunny hopping around.

I think they have a serious bias against anything that is supposed to be realistic (flight sims).

I don't pay too much attention to reviews because they colour my perspective of the game before I play it. The only reviews I actually look at are yahtzee's and that is just for entertainment value.
This, and word for word.

Most reviews done my Gamespot. Mount and Blade...a 6? Really gamespot? Really
Or Wheelman...I think they gave that a 6 too....no shit Gamespot. Doesn't matter if the driving mechanic is incredibly fun! 'cause in today games no one gives a crap about the "fun factor" of a game, it's all about the graphics and the story!

Pretty much all of Yahtzee's reviews. He's a terrible reviewer and the fact that his fanboys do pretty much whatever he says means that they will miss out on quite a few great gaming experiences.
You know it's just an act and it's not to be taken seriously, right?

I disagreed most with the Game Informer review of "Lost Planet: Extreme Condition." They gave it an 8.75 when it sucked ass. It should have been a 5 at the most.
I agree with this word for word. Also I completely disagreed with X PLAY's review of Saints Row 2. They gave it a 3 out of 5. The whole review was basically them saying how it was a crappier version of GTA4. Also their review of Too Human. A 4 out of 5. Really?
