Same here :/ Being Asian and having 5 feet of hair does attract some weird people.

Just kidding. I had moderately long hair, recently got it cut so it's around shoulder length. This is about as short as I want it though. BTW I'm Male.

It's just the same douchebaggery of cultures who hate metal. Whether or not you like metal, they see you as part of that culture and for some reason have a problem with it.

I had to laugh, because I used to have superlong hair, and would have loved for someone to assume I was into metal. Even wearing leather and metal, with my black shorts and ripped up Metallica shirt, more often than not I'd hear, "Hey, cut your hair you hippee!" Just an observation.

It's not just the north, it's in the south aswel, I live in a council estate so it's especially bad, although I'm a pretty mean looking lad so I get less of it these days. I think the reason for it is because chavs have serious inferiority complexes and need to vent, I wouldn't take it to heart, you must realise that chavs will find something to shout at everyone, even the most causal guy.

long hair does seem to attract positive attention from women, which is maybe why my gf keeps hinting at cutting mine even though she encouraged me to grow it in the first place
