What's the worst gun?

I know historically, the French ChauChat and Italian Breda 50 were responsible for many users frustration, injury and death, but how about nowadays? Lets say, WWII - present?

I'm no firearms guru, but I know there is quite a knowledge base in the community here. Does the Tec 9 deserve the assessment it gets as a piece of crap? The M16a1 certainly had it's share of issues. The Automag high caliber handgun was a dismal, malfunctioning failure in competition with the IMI Desert Eagle.

These are the sort of things I was thinking of and wondering if anyone had any input on. I'm trying to limit the focus of the topic to guns that actually had a production, as opposed to some dangerous toy made by an amateur gunsmith.

Thoughts?

I beg to differ

It doesn't even shoot bullets
(I was in fourth grade when I first saw it)

hmmmm....

I think it has to be a gun from Red Faction Guerrilla... It essentially fired insanely weak bullets that homed slightly to the target. It didn't home much, and it's hard to miss in that game as is, and it didn't do enough damage to anything.

I really didn't like it.

*edit
Durp, you meant in real life.

I'll vote for the m16, prior to the quick eject pull. Back then it jammed like crazy due to the ammo, and not being able to instantly unjam it with a pull was killing people. Well. Killing the wrong people.

Not if the SAS still uses it today.

OT: I dunno what the "worst gun" is. Many have had their fair share of issues, but every gun can do its job, which is of couse to kill, or have fun.

As I said, I only know from gaming, as the most dangerous thing I've fired is the Remington pellet gun I got when I was 10.

I don't know about the worst gun, but there was a mortar in WWII that was nicknamed the 'Knee Mortar'. This lead to a lot of soldiers crippling themselves with it by trying to brace it on their thighs.

That's the S.P.L.A.N.K.E.R. from Codename Kids Next Door! I remember seeing that TV show and playing the video game on Flashplayer.com or something.
It was fun.

Not nearly as bad as the ill fated "Testicle Mortar" that preceded it.

The Desert Eagle. I can't think of any functional use for it. Sure it is awesome and has an intimidation factor, but as a weapon it defies all reasons for using a handgun in the first place.

well the early German Lugers had issues with the chamber being so thin that you could squeeze it and fire the gun, a lot of soldiers died from falling on their own guns.

modern guns, ive always had issues with the Beretta 92/M9, i know the military uses it, but they only went with it because it was cheaper than the Sig P226 which actually won the trials. Early 92's had slide failure issues in which around the 5000 round mark the slides were actually exploding.

AK47. Everything i heard about that Gun is good. Versatility Durability and cost for mass supplies.
Uh, this is about worst guns.

Anyway, OP, you're thinking of the original M16, the A1 fixed a lot of the issues. And part of the problem was that troops weren't initially issued cleaning kits, because it was believed it didn't have to be cleaned. When it did, they had to clean it with sticks, and that almost made it worse.

I nominate the Desert Eagle. Inaccurate, heavy, expensive, and it has lots of recoil. Doesn't even look that cool, it's all triangley.
