I was using SPDs on my pushbike. They were really stubborn, plus I wasn't used to twisting to get my feet from the pedals. So I had stopped and wanted to put my one foot down. I just ended up landing sideways. It would have been nothing had I let myself just fall. But I put my hand out and it swelled madly. Another accident on SPDs could have crushed my skull since I fell in the middle of the road. I don't use SPDs anymore, just normal pedals.

Never broken a bone though. But have had a nasty shove to my back as other posters have which have hurt my spine for a while.

Several skullfractures and concussions, hell I was in the hospital so often as a kid the staff started to know me by name.
My crown achievement was that time I crashed through a window on the playground in school(don't ask, I was a kid and we were playing tag or something) and sliced open my arm from wrist to elbow. The gash was in the middle about 3 centimeters wide. It just missed the artery in the wrist but it was deep enough to actually see it pulse.
It was bad enough for the school to invest heavily into changing all the windows and when the headmaster retired a few years later she stated it as "the worst thing that ever happened in her career."
Years later my parents finally told me what noone dared tell me back than: that there had been a very real chance my fingers would be paralyzed for life. But here I am, typing 2 handed like a pro :)

Strangely though I have yet to break a bone. And I'm pretty sure it's not because I'm not giving it my best shot.

I used to visit my Grandmother in Florida, where she stayed half the year to avoid the cold in her hometown during winter. She lived in this community with mostly elderly individuals (not an old-folks home, an actual tiny town setup with a very nice pool). Most people around there got around on, I kid you not, giant tricycles. And not those weird ones with one massive wheel. They were actually pretty nice, easy to get around on. Anyway, I was coming back to her place with the rest of my family, each of us riding one of these "bikes". When I was leaving, a car comes out of nowhere driving far too fast (especially given the average age of the area) and nearly smashes me into a number of bloody chunks. I manage to avoid it, just barely, but the sudden motion of doing so sent me sprawling to the pavement very hard and very fast. I was bleeding profusely everywhere from my legs, which took most of the hit (thankfully less terrible than it looked, but still pretty nasty).

Let's see...I have:

-Been shot in the eye with a BB gun.
-Been shot in the leg with a homemade dart blowpipe.
-Lost a huge chunk of flesh off of my left shin to a rusty crate.
-Been picked up and slammed into the ground by a guy twice my size and weight using all his strength.
-Had a brick thrown at the back of my head.
-Almost been buried alive under an unstable house and crush to death.
-Been cornered by a snake.
-Been smashed across the temple with a fist sized rock in a fight.
-Recieved numerous strikes and injuries across many areas in the course of my time doing martial arts (quite a few to the head too).
-Almost been swept away by the ocean.
-ALmost been shot at point blank range in the chest by a child holding a 9mm revolver.
-Have had Hypothermia twice.
-Stabbed myself in the toe with my keys (not really a serious one but it did hurt like hell).
-Been beaten to the ground and had people jumping on my chest (that was when I was a kid).
-Sat through Alien vs. Predator: Requiem...twice (once was bad enough).

And many more that I can't remember at present off the top of my head.

You may also find it suprising to know I haven't ever broken a single bone.

Fractured skull.
Demolished right shoulder.
8 broken ribs.
Punctured lung.
Snapped spine.

All at once.

Skidded a bike at 15mph (diesel or black ice apparently), into the back of a car waiting to cross oncoming traffic. Bike (undamaged) toppled to the right and I fell in front of the oncoming traffic (I'm British). Turns out I'm alligeric to the undersides of Vauxhall Cavaliers doing 40.

Won't bother with my previous, multiple, rugby and soccer injuries.

I win!

I watched the entire Avatar: The Last Airbender movie.

Aside from that probably when I got hit by a car who's driver didn't use their flashers broke/dislocated all the bones in my left pinky. The following week I rolled my ankle hopping onto a sidewalk. I couldn't walk properly for about 6 months after that.

While you have my sympathies I still have to argue that AVPR was far worse (than the movie that is, my honest sympathies to you about your physical injuries).

Man, you guys sure like to nearly kill themselves.
All I ever managed was a distorted carpal while snowboarding.

About 5 years ago, I had a crash on my bmx, where I snapped my right collarbone in 2 places, displaced it from the inside joint, displaced my shoulder and broke the tip of the socket, and sustained mild whiplash. I don't remember much at all, but from what I'm told, I jumped the last jump in the set, and nose dived slightly, and clipped my front wheel on the back of the lander which caused me to pretty much headbutt the ground. the only bits I actually remember from the entire day, was launching off the kicker, then black, then slamming into the ground and sliding for a bit with the front of my shoulder pressing against the middle of my chest, and then sitting in emergency for 3 hours. Oh, and this was the day before my QCS test haha.

...luckily, I was wearing a helmet. saved my life plenty of times now.
QCS as in Queensland Core Skills Test?

Worst injury was I almost cut my thumb off with a cat food lid. Watching a tv show and all of a sudden I was feeling good... Then I realised there was a lot of blood and my thumb was half hanging off. Got it reattached and now just a small scar to remember it by.

If my mom is to be believed, I was born dead due to the umbilical cord being wrapped around my neck.

Same thing happened to me. But I was probably not born dead...

Other than that, I've never had any serious injuries. Nothing that can be compared to the stuff in this thread anyway.

The reason I am afraid of high dive boards: So I was at a pool when I was about 8 and I loved using the high dive. So I'm about to jump off - but I slipped on it before I could get to the edge. The only lucky thing about falling is my neck and head were hanging over the edge of the pool, so I didn't crush my skull into a million pieces or snap my neck. That didn't stop me from breaking my right leg and 4 toes, 3 ribs, and worst of all - an open compound fracture in my right arm. I slid into the pool and almost drowned, my mum is handicapped and tried to get help but ended up pulling me out; for some stupid reason no one, not even the life guard, got up to pull me out and so she had to hobble over and risk herself.

About 5 years ago, when I was 16 and on vacation in Greece, I was goofing around with my dad in the ocean. I was standing on his shoulders in the water like when I was a kid, and then he'd launch me into the water by standing up. I dove too deep and hit my head on a rock, giving myself a concussion, a large cut on my forehead, a swollen face and about a zillion sea urchin thorns lodged into my forehead that I spent over a week picking out. Dad's been feeling guilty ever since.

A scraped knee? I've never really been prone to injury...Probably because I've never been prone to being an idiot.

P.S.: Not implying injuries are always the person's fault. Just usually.

I cracked my wrist and got stung by a blue bottle which wrapped all the way around my left leg and under my knee on the soft skin. (These were separate occasions). The blue-bottle scar stayed for about 2 years and was pink and bumpy for a whole month... frekkin' hell, that is a concentrated dose of pure pain!

These are all softball related injuries when I played...Broke one of my middle fingers when I was playing catcher and a bat hit my hand, broke the other one when I got hit by a softball when batting, broke both of my wrists when I slid into 2nd base and landed wrong two separate times, broke the left side of my jaw and my cheek bone when I was playing 3rd base and got hit by a line drive, blood gushed everywhere, good times...I was quite accident prone lol.

*takes a deep breath* I was in a car accident at 13, driving at 12:30 am, dude on the other side of the road fell asleep, drove over the median and hit us head on. I was only wearing a lap belt at the time, so I ended up breaking my back (severed a nerve, I can't feel most of my right leg) wound up having to have extensive abdominal surgery cause practically all of my organs got shoved into my chest cavity, I had a hole in my diaphragm the size of the surgeons fist (he used to play foot ball in college... his hands were huge) I had a punctured lung, had to have 2 feet of my small intestine removed cause they were completely mangled, my heart was in the wrong side of my chest, they had to take out my appendix because it was damaged, aaaaand.... I had a lacerated spleen...... I think thats it, it was a looooong time ago, I am now walking again, but I had to have ankle surgery a while back to move a tendon over so that I could lift my toes again (that pesky severed nerve) and yeah.....

Edit: just one thing, I realize I made it sound as if I was driving, this is not the case lol my mum was

I fell off my bike ALOT of times but never broke something just feeling really shitty.

The most vivid pain would be a kick in the jewels.
