Traveling this forums on most topics discussing one person or a group of people there will always be the person saying somethingin the gist of

'Thats why I hate mankind'

Or more recently in the I'm a racist thread people were saying 'I'm racist against all races'

What leads people to do this? I mean if anything it makes you look like an elitist jackass (In my eyes that is).

Do you want to be 'internet cool' or do you actually hate people?

If you hate all people do you have any friends and do you hate your family as well?

If you hate all people why bother posting on a discussion board (with other people)?

Could someone explain and please prove me wrong?

EDIT: This post is not of inflammatory nature, at least not meant to be. I just use examples and slight exaggerations :)

I think they just want to be 'internet cool' by pretending they have no souls.
Silly people, everyone has a soul, it's just that mine is black and shriveled.

Perhaps they hate people as a general rule, and there are then some exceptions to that rule.

Or perhaps they hate "people" but like individual persons. People as a whole tend to be stupid, but I don't think that it warrents hatred.

I said it as a joke, but maybe some people have had harsh lives that have led to them being cynics.

It's trying to be internet cool. There's a guy I know who does it in real life.

Nobody likes him.

Well you are partially right. True misanthropes despise people but don't necessarily avoid them. A true misanthrope tries to keep his identity secret to avoid annoying prying and discussion of his "chosen" condition. So the show off ones are just that showing off. "anti-social" behavior has been cool since punk rock became popular (that is late 70s early 80s).

I agree man.. Its weird.

The vibe on this place is pretty much "Evil is the new cool"

So the more evil and brooding you are, the more people like you..

But wouldn't a harsh life urge you to find refuge in people instead of being a loner and hating everyone?

Just wondering, is he a nerd?

Sort of. He acts nerdy but isn't into any nerdy things, he just babbles about when he'll enslave humanity and is generally a bit of a werido.

Depressingly, people think that because governments are out for self interest, and because business is to for selfish, that no one can possibly be a pleasant human being.
The majority of people are nice people, just you tend to remember t assholes more. I for example lost my father when i was 15, and some chick this year decided it was a good idea to be an asshole about it. I'll remember the hate for her more than i will the milk of human kindness...

I suppose it would depend on the life. Someone who was abused by his or her parents and had few, if any friends wouldn't be likely to seek out even more people.

I can only speculate, though.

Whoa that IS weird

I know someone a tad like that in real life, he looks repulsive, is a nerd, a stalker and he has stories about how he wanted to be the dictator of the town/city he lives in and stuff. Needless to say he has no friends and everyone is kinda scared of him because they are afraid he'll socialise with them. Yes it sounds harsh but he is just so WEIRD

I like certain people. I won't go about saying that I hate everybody. I'll be honest and say the only people I don't like are people that give me a reason to not like them.

Perhaps it kinda depends on the person you are, when someone is an asshole to me I am particularly mad at them that day and maaaybe the next day but I don't do revenges. I'm generally a nice guy :)

It could also be because I haven't had any situations like yours

Yeah could be, people who are generally more social obviously would seek refuge in friends/people and people who aren't all that social wouldn't.

Yeah, i mean i act like i can hold a grudge but i really cant, i generally pride myself in having high moral standards and really being the nicest guy to everybody. Consequently i have tonnes of awesome friends, and yet they never fail to disappoint me. =P
