Campaign is five hours long. When I spend 70 dollars on a game I want the developers to at least try with the single-player. Sure there were some pretty locales, but thats it. The rest of it was far too generic and far too short.

The experience of the multiplayer is this 'Get on, get killed by three different campers, one camper gets chopper gunner and decimates team as soon as they respawn, other camper gets AC-130, last camper gets nuke, quit game, never play again'.

Spec-ops is fun though.
basicly this i mean the game is horrible.... short campaign, crappy online community(even worse than halos),bugs and glitchs that should have been taken out,MAJOR host problems......
but if you still want to play a good modern warfare game, play call of duty 4, so much better and the online community doesen't suck balls.

EDIT: also the stimulus package was overpriced for two maps that were copy and pasted from
the first MW and only three NEW maps for 15$, not a good price if you ask me. the resurgence pack doesen't change that at all.

I actually quite liked it. I'm alright online, which apparently means I'm one of five people who is, excluding campers. The campaign though, man that was bad. The ending, was awesome even though the story still sucked. Spec Ops is a great mode for two people co-op though. Gotta' love it.

To be fair, I think he's looking for actual reasons opposed to "WHY DO YOU HATE MY FAVOURITE GAME?"

Why don't you just read the 50 other forums exactly like this. MW2 had some good things about it and a lot of bad things. Get over it.

well apart from the EXPECTATIONALLY broken game that it is, i like it, maybe it is because i have met an epic group of friends there and we now play online together everyday and we enjoy using the broken physics, shooting, camping, boosters as a way to enjoy it, once you know how to use the problems and get over with the fact you can empty an entire FAMAS's clip, 1mm away from the enemy's head. ether its that or i like playing games with friends

Apparently the online is awful and we ALL know that no one plays the single player campaigns anymore.

Personally, I played it recently and I really liked it. And I didn't even have to touch the online multiplayer to form an opinion.

So basically what I'm saying is: is online play all anyone cares about anymore? Basically if it doesn't have good Online Multiplayer, then it's a crap game?

Sorry, I can understand and accept that people don't like the game. But it seems like all anyone ever cares about now is whether or not a game has good Online play.

Because it makes peoples top 10 phrases they hear every day like this since November 2009.

1.Got 100th nuke!
2.got another chopper gunner!
3.Im so good at quick scopeing!
4.Akimbo 1887s
5.Thermal scope
6.prestiged again last night
7.Im so good with my auto FAL!( fucking mod n00bs, and they think there beast)
8.The intervention is so good when no-scopeing
9.There team sucks so bad.
10.(in an argument) im gonna kill you with a A Barret 50. Cal with a thermal scope
I can keep going but those are the top 10 things I hear everyday and they just go and on and think there good using mods to make pistols automatic and 10 prestige. Iv gotten to level 40, wasn't that great so dont think im just hateing on something I dont know about.

and thats why I hate it.

P.S. Halo rules!

I haven't played alot, but I've definitly noticed that one. It's either laggy or the hit boxes are excessively large, or both...one compensating for the other.

OT: I didn't know people still cared about this game on any real level.

There was some hate, upon release and due to the dedicated servers and special item outcry. However hatred only exploded after West-Zampeella-Gate. I think fans were outraged over the prospect that the people who fired the developers would be the ones who would profit over the game.

The hate usually comes from the undeserved success, I have heard it has a lot of flaws, that it's also generic and the campaign is quite short.

Frankly I was only annoyed with Infinity Ward for dumping the dedicated servers 10 days before it's release, that was ridiculous.

I thought the campaign was good, but it had a wonky difficulty curve (the last level in the first act, the one in the favella, is the hardest level in the game. wtf?). Story was a disappointment compared to CoD4

The spec ops missions were pretty fun, though. No complaints here.

The multiplayer is as balanced as a drunk on a seesaw. I think adding MORE air support to the game was just a horrible idea. Remember in CoD4 when there could only be one helicopter at a time? Even THEN we complained about it, but now...oh good heavens. When your MP encourages camping to get killstreak rewards, which then get you MORE kills for MORE killstreak rewards...it's a bit ridiculous. And don't get me started on the weapons. I really wonder who the weapons "Expert" for this game was. Again, also poorly balanced.

Then let's get out of the gameplay itself, and we see no dedicated servers for the PC, which they replaced with some of the worst matchmaking I have ever seen (a new player should NOT be grouped with a bunch of prestiged players) and THEN there is the overpriced DLC. Seriously, $15 for 3 new maps and 2 old ones for the previous game? $15 for something Valve would give for free!?!? This is inexcusable.

But yea, none of that matters. People just hate it because it's popular.

Multiplayer blows chunks, and the fucked over PC gamers.

If it wasn't for PC gamers Infinity ward wouldn't have even made a second game.

I like it. I wish the story was longer, but a lot of shooters these days are short. I have no problem with Multi player balance issues, and whether or not people want to admit it, EVERYTHING in the multi player can be countered (perhaps that's why I don't have balance issues). And I enjoy spec ops. I constantly ask any of my online friends if they need help on veteran on any of them, because I love playing as a team.

The online play is badly unbalanced and in need of so many patches it'll look like a hobo's pants afterwards. The spawns are just awful, I've spawned on a claymore more than once, hell I watched a kill-cam one time and watched myself literally pop out of oblivion in front of some guy. And when are they going to get around to fixing the magic curving bullets? When I take cover behind a solid surface I do not fancy the bullets killing me anyway, I know you can shoot through surfaces but I'm talking about some of the buildings that you can't enter being shot around.

MW2 has got better over time since halo reach beta and battlefield BC2 came out a lot of the gamers that play the it game have left...

The campaign is a joke, super short, they didnt try anything new same gameplay as COD4 with better graphics atleast BC2 used bullets travel time and affected them with gravity to change it up.

The online is getting better but hardcore riccochet is a godsend cos unskilled noob tubers always kill themselves reqularly and you can tell them cos they always have a 1 kill 3 death aerage. Plus there is less reliance on killstreak rewards in hardcore cos most use cold blooded.

My biggest issue is when playing domination or headquaters you arnt punished for not attempting to cap points. It could be better if a game ends in 3 minutes if you dont cap a headquater in that time or if all domination points arnt caped by either. That is by far the best part of BC2 if you dont attempt to cap anything or destroy headquaters you dont get to play for long and rack up points

Probably has something to do with the quality of it's predecessor, the fact that the MW formula was altered to please a broader audience and that hating on MW2 instantly makes you a more superior FPS player... (as if that crowd needed any more of an ego boost)

I enjoyed the multiplayer and found the emphasis on talents, killstreaks and leveling a refreshing change. Then again I didn't have any expectations, am not a 'hardcore' fps player and don't have a problem with getting killed by 'cheap tactics' (noobtube, tac knife, etc) once in a while.

The excessive hating on MW2 is uncalled for in my opinion. It's by no means a bad game just look at how popular it is and you can hardly conclude anything other than that it's not that bad of a game.

In all my life playing online games, never before have I seen more cheaters than when playing MW2. When I played CS:S for 5 years I saw, maybe, 2 hackers who were promptly banned. In MW2 I'd be lucky to play a game without one. Also, the added maps AREN'T added to the usual rotation, it's a game mode on it's own......what the hell is up with that?!

There is plenty of "modern warfare" going on now. This is boring, and I do not play video games to re enact real life things happening right now.

Realism is not fun.

I think bullets penetrate walls in Call of Duty. Don't know who thought that was a good idea though.
You're reasons probably come into play as well.
