After a few years (hell, even a few months), I think it's ok to make a new thread. (unless you're my Bidoof of a boyfriend who will scream at you how you should post in his years dead threads)canadamus_prime said:I hadn't noticed. But would you rather they create a new thread about the same topic?
My friend and I were once in Catering class trying to make pancakes. There was no mix, but I mean sugar, flour, eggs and milk will get you far enough. We were looking for some chocolate chips or something to put inside, but we found none. What we did find, however, were several bars of dark chocolate which we figured we'd just grate up and toss into the mix. Underneath, we found a little baggie containing something that we couldn't quite identify, crumbly in nature. Naturally, we ate it, and determined it was a Heath bar that had seen better days. So we're like, fuck it, it's crumbled up finely, into the pankcakes with you: It'll offset how bitter the dark chocolate was at least (it was like 70 or 90%). We went to get the eggs and milk. The milk was expired, but we were like, fuck it, thug life. The eggs, some dumbass had put them in the freezer, so they were all solid. We figured, we already have expired milk, and a God knows how old Heath bar, what's an unmixable egg? Into the pancake.mParadox said:I once made chicken soup which had expired in 2009. It tasted awful... but it didn't upset my stomach as badly as I'd thought it would. >_>
Your boyfriend is a Bidoof? OuOsoren7550 said:After a few years (hell, even a few months), I think it's ok to make a new thread. Yes, actually. =Pcanadamus_prime said:I hadn't noticed. But would you rather they create a new thread about the same topic?
No, why should we do that?sky14kemea said:If you guys see Necro'd threads around, could you PM a Mod, or post it in the Moderation User Group? :<
Well, it's not a precise answer. Maybe if it's a month or two old, then it may be OK to be brought back, if it's more than a year, probably not. Still depends on stuff, though - a "current event thing" - after it's passed there isn't much more to talk about it, a topic creator (or somebody else) returning to update and maybe even restart a discussion on a topic after a probably more recent turn of events, could even be worthwhile. But we don't really see many of the latter (although I saw one just a few days ago). A lot of the necros are unnecessary - just somebody wanting to throw their two cents for the heck of it. And it could fall under disruptive posting if it's done often enough (or deliberately).canadamus_prime said:I hadn't noticed. But would you rather they create a new thread about the same topic?
We can indeed good sir, if I get a quote from a eyar ago I think I'd freak out.sky14kemea said:Guh, I don't know why there's been a huge influx of necro'd threads, but it's really annoying to deal with.

If it's over a year old, you might as well make a new thread. Feel free to link the old thread in your OP to give it credit, but you'll just end up confusing people who've been quoted for something they can't even remember writing.

Surely it depends on what kind of food?TopazFusion said:Berithil said:My guess is it's random people surfing the web, coming across a link leading to a random topic on the forums.
