I'm not a nintendo fangirl but I do appreciate the choice to play a colourful and well made platformer etc in a world of grey brown shooters.Gorrath said:snip
I haven't bought a Wii U as I find the line up so far rather uninspiring but I have spent a lot of money on 3DS games these past months. I have bought Luigi's Mansion 2 and Animal Crossing New Leaf (preorder) as directly Nintendo software. I also love the 3D effect of the 3DS and find it a very cool use of old technology (like light guns).
I just think people are rather unfair on Nintendo. They seem to me to put a lot of effort into every game they make and have a high standard of quality.
I kind of appreciate the Nintendo Direct announcements too. It makes me feel important to them as a customer.
I agree. I never really play Nintendo games for the story I play it for the gameplay. As someone who collected every coin in Mario 64 and 100% both Galaxies let me tell you they definitely put challenge into their games, you just have to go looking for it. I believe this is also true of the recent Kirbys and getting all the stars.j-e-f-f-e-r-s said:When it comes to gameplay, then level design and gameplay mechanics are the key ingredients, and these are things Nintendo tends to prioritise above all else. So I would argue that you're moving the goalposts somewhat, praising one developer for achieving something, yet failing to see when another developer arguably does it just as well, if not better.
