So let me get this straight.

1)You suggest that they play a different game for the tournament.
2)They say they don't want to.
3)You have said tournament anyway.
4)They don't show up.
5)You're surprised for some reason?
No

1) I suggest I play a different game this year
2) They all freak out at the idea of something that isn't SSBB and start a nerdgasm fueled boycott at my idea to play MvC3
3) that's as far as we've gotten the tournament is in February or March.
4) I am not writing "??????" here and "Profit" down there
5) If it is brawl I'm going to get forced to play GH3 AGAIN... and be bored out of my mind while people stare on in awe... AGAIN!

Well one thing is its every Nintendo fan's wet dream.
Second its probably something they are really good ant and don't want to risk it with a new game.

But that's not important, what is important is that your school has
Video Game tournaments.
Kick ass.
I remember playing Melee all the time during Band class.
At the end of the year we literally do nothing, so we grab some TV's from the library and some people bring stuff like Melee and rock Band.

Also i think a MvC3 tournament would be cool if the point is to have fun and not ban every character that you cant beat.
I freaking hate that.

Once it comes out im maining a Glorious Zero X Wesker X Felicia team and nothing will stop me.

you have lost the right to ever complain about anything ever again.

but to answer your last complaint before the undeniable laws of because-I-said-so took away that right: there is a republican/ democrat kind of dichotomy within the gaming world; recreational/ competitive; those that play for fun, and those who have serious insecurity problems. some people play games solely for competitive value, and as such often obsess on becoming the best in one specific game. you bring in a new game, they dont know how to exploit it in 500 different ways to beat you, so they dont want to play it. simple as that.
The tournoment is near the release date so I wouldn't be that good

and yeah my high school sucks *sarcasm* I spent all day today watching mythbusters while participating in the class robot fight (in robotics) mine had a big hammer and a ball shooter- it won the fight but lost the race

we also spent east (last period) by... *sigh* making me 5 star TtFaF... followed by packing a ton of food up for a food drive and carrying it down flights of stairs... with many well endowed girls (that's the pervy note) that gave me hugs for carrying such weights (weights as in heavy boxes of canned food)

yeah it TOTALLY sucks~ :p

...too bad all the dudes are total pricks or complete nerds
... u seem like thhe type of person who needs to act like ther the best at everything, so those kids beat u down in particular games so u dont like it, also, i dont care if i get banned, ur kinda acting like a chode and u sound full of it
Being I could barely understand what you wrote (if you call that writing) I'll try and summarize.

I AM A GAMING GOD AND HATE IT BECAUSE NO ONE PLAYS GAMES WITH ME BECAUSE OF IT!

...or rage-quit, or break my controllers, and call "HACKS!", or most often; HAVE ME UNLOCK EVERYTHING FOR THEM! (the pansies...)

The only game I've had a challenge in... erm, make that gameS, is Killer Instinct because my friend Scorpion (obviously his screen name) rules at it, and F-Zero GX because ONE of thoes nintenerds actually LOVES that game (I like it too ^^) and he's a pretty good challenge; he's actually gotten further in the story then I have; but I've beaten levels on hard and he hasn't so we're kinda even

Speaking of banning-
(hey I know you!)
-if there is a brawl thingy we can't be Metaknight, Fox, pit, Snake, or sonic
sonic and snake arn't banned for being "cheap"
they're banned for being NOT-nintendo

EDIT: and the rest are banned due to spam
and no items
2v2 only
final destination only

...yeah kinda lame when you take the fun out of it
am I the only person that loves moving stages like Poke-Floats, and Rumble Falls?
(even though I don't play anymore I did like moving stages with lots of stuff instead of flat still ones; I also hate %'s)

Wat.
That goes against the point of the game.
(and you do?)
Hell i hate Pit and his spinning arrow bade wings of girly death but banning him is dumb.
And banning Sonic and Snake for not being Nintendo is just plain old Retarded.
Snake is a beast once you learn how to deal with his speed(or lack their of)
They just mad they cant recover from being knock off stage by using Snake's own Grenades.
Its awesome.

Also final Destanation gets old QUICK.
Norfair with the Golden Sun/FelixXDoom Dragon theme playing, Pirate Firgate with Metroid Prime Theme playing, Port Town with Mute City Theme playing, and Pirate Ship with Tal Tal Heights playing are the best stages.
Deal with it.
:)

A MvC3 Tournament is a good idea in my opinion.

Did you miss my custom songs comment?
lol
lets see...
Norfair = Golden Sun *thumbs up*

Pirate Frigate = ...umm I think I have it playing the Biolizard theme just because it fits the paracite queen so well

Port Town I have playing Port Town from F-Zero X (the really good fast paced song)

and Pirate ship is playing Beware the Forest Mushrooms (you might know it as "Geno's Forest" from Super Mario RPG)

Well if you suggested Tatsunoko VS Capcom...
I'm just kidding.

They probably like to play SSBB so much because they're good at it.

This is actually pretty common now. My high school had a Guitar Hero club, a SSBB club, and an Anime club.
fuckin americans, having anime and game competitions when my school forces us to do a sport.
Forces you? Is that even legal? Well apparently it is I suppose. My school had sports teams and all kinds of clubs, which were all optional of course.

Just saying is all. You have to be able to bend too and give alittle.
They've had 3 years of brawl tounaments
is it really asking too much to have a different game this year? a game that the senior class the class that WON'T HAVE ANOTHER CHANCE AT THIS prefers?

Not trying to be a gaming god dick I am but

I own them at it... maybe because I haven't played in over a year they think they can beat me again? I really don't know.

and sadly I don't have Tatsunoko Vs Capcom (yet...)

dear OP

many people play the games nowadays that are seen to be popular not because they are "gamers" per se but rather teenagers/young adults seeking common points of reference and through that the acceptance of their peer group.

peer group may be small (the 5 Brawl guys) or large (the WoW "community")
doesn't matter
the point to it all is you, or rather they, "fit in" . . . somewhere.

the gaming medium has become just an other avenue for this stage in human development (like music and sports and many other interests before it)

you must have the latest "in" game asap
you must play it
you must be good at it
you much have a knowledge of it and happens within it to discuss with your peers or you stand out:
uninformed,
unengaged,
unwanted ? . .

some people grow out it before others
some people will always deny its part of what they do (some going to great lengths to fit in with the "we don't fit in!" group usually...)
but in the end everyone grows out of the need for peer approval eventually

it just starts out rather raw and intense with a great deal of inflexablity because a. no one wants banished from the peer group they are in and b. wants to do everything they can to reinforce their position within it.
Very well put, I agree, but it still aggravates me to all heck... and I kinda knew that- shallow american teenagers...
