OT: I love that game. People just hate it because it is popular. This will be the fact of life forever.

That was probably the funniest thing I have seen all day. That guy was asking for it though... anyone who puts a gamer-tag like that is just ASKING for attention. Also I hate it when people wear their homosexuality like it defines them.

OT: I found 3 to be not as good as 2 mainly due to the maps. It's the same problem with MW2. Cod4 had amazing maps that made the game interesting.... MW2 on the other hand was made for campers.

The game's a bit overrated, but it's still fun. The story was interesting enough, even though the characters weren't that believable. I went into the game expecting to kill a lot of aliens for several hours, and that's what I got. Only thing I hated about it was the level "The Library." So repetitive.

People don't dislike halo because they think it sucks, they just hate all the hype that it gets when it's nothing more than just a generic shooter.

I love halo story and when i used to play it on the xbox i found the multiplayer very fun. nothing wrong with halo, if i want to play a tournament styled shooter i think i'll go with something with a lot more gameplay content IE: time splitters because of flaming vampire zombie mode!

Love the first, hate the later two (I don't like how your shield replaces your health bar in 2&3, and I hate how in multiplayer in 2 often has you starting off with the garbage SMG's). I just wish there was a bit more variety in Halo 1's campaign, both in level design and in enemies.

I haven't played much of Halo 3 (only multiplayer) but it seemed to me to be pretty much the same as Halo 2, with some new stuff thrown in like bubble shields and whatnot.

personally i dont enjoy the combat, but that's just me. It's like Halo combat is smack dab in the middle of unrealistic and realistic, sort of a uncanny valley for me.

If you dont enjoy the fighting, you wont enjoy a FPS.

Sure it has flaws but all games have flaws.can i get a good logical answer to my first question?
Well, a lot of the umbridge directed at Halo comes from it's being falsely accredited with inventing just about every convention in current shooters, when in fact it invented none. Granted particularly dumb members of the press do it as well as younger gamers, but it grates massively to hear Halo crowned as the inventor of things like Dual Stick controls (Medal of Honor/Alien Resurrection/TimeSplitters), recharging health (Silent Bomber), limited weapon slots (Counter Strike, Rainbow Six, many others) and so on. That's an irritant.

The other is the tendency of many to put it on a pedestal as the greatest ever. It's not, it's not even the biggest selling. It also relies heavily on cut'n'paste level design. Especially CE where the second half is essentially a reverse run through the first. 2 and 3 are also full of cheap design choices, such as the many 1 hit kills attacks possesse by Elites and Flood or the Brute's bullet sponge health.

It's not that any of these is especially crushing, but all of them combined with It's extremely vocal (and frequently ignorant) fans leaves Halo open to a lot of flack.

Still fun though.

I would have prefered the question "What do you enjoy about the Halo series?" because then I could answer with the co-op campaign. Playing the co-op campaign of the first and second was the strong point of the series for me.

It's because it's an average game that met with extremely popular acclaim. That's why a lot of people dislike it. It's kinda like Twilight (This is meant to be no offense to Halo at all. I love the games, it's just the only thing I can think of). A sub-par read that everyone loves despite bigger and better things right under their noses.

Personally, I like Halo and thought it deserved it's ratings. A lot of people dislike popular things and people.

The fact that people think it is the best game ever. It isn't.

The story is fairly bland (though many tell me I'm wrong), the mechanics are workable, the gameplay is quite "meh", nothing that hasn't been done better, and the environments aren't too interesting.

All 'n' all, it's fine, but I just hate how everyone claims it's the best game in the history of the universe.

I didn't find anything wrong with the games, but the series is overrated. I always enjoyed playing co-op on it, but there are better FPS' out there.

Nothing is wrong with it's singleplayer. It's multiplayer has little strategy though, and others have done similar much better.

Theres nothing really wrong with it, but for me it doesn't really pass the border into fun. The controls and everything are fine but there is something about it which is just generic and feels wrong and too be honest i don't know what it is.

There's no Cortana sex scene, that's what's wrong with Halo.
No, it's great except it's only for Xbox now :(

You could jump really high,
the enemies were fun and not too scary,
the weapons sounded like ship,
your allies were useless unless they had a sniper and sat next to you in the Warthog,
the vehicles were fun and useful,
the story was comfy,
Cortana was more hot than not hot at all,
Master Chief was cool, clean and badass,
the easiest difficulty setting was really easy and the hardest was really hard.

I just don't find it fun at all. I tried really hard to like it, because I was really baffled as to why everybody loved it, but the only thing I found fun about it was playing Rocket Race with friends. The normal multiplayer, the singleplayer, everything else was just really boring and bland to me.

Personally, I think Halo's only flaw is that it fell victim to "mainstream hate" syndrome. As soon as the hardcores figured out that everyone likes Halo and they couldn't be all elitist about it anymore, they abandoned it and started nitpicking small flaws that they previously didn't mind so as to elevate themselves above the average college frat-boy. Basically, most Halo-hate is a product of inflated ego, not actual game flaws.

there is nothing particularly horrible about it(other than the crap story and the community) but there is nothing particularly good about it either I mean it's just your basic shooter it takes no chances and does nothing that makes it worth playing but in doing so it becomes the worst kind of game: a game that halts the progression of games as an acceptable form media and an accepted art form...
