What's wrong with PC gamers?

I'm a console user and I occasionally refer to myself as a 'console tard'. I'm perfectly willing to admit that the controller is the simpler interface and, for me, that's good. I like the fact that everything is close together and you don't have to flail around mashing random keys. It feels more natural to me. However that simplicity brings limits, which is why the pc is still used for more complex games like rts's, and crysis. This seems to be what pc gamers don't like.

We may be inferior but at least we have an 18+ rating :)

I don't defend PC. I think that PC is better, but i haven't actually played Xbox or PS3. I liked NES and PS1, but when i got PC every console was just non existent to me.

I find it hard to credit that the thread starter honestly thinks the console fanboys aren't just as defensive about their chosen platform - the difference is they tend to vilify and denigrate all the other consoles, their exclusive titles, and the people who own them. Forums devoted solely to gaming are a veritable wasteland where the rare glimmering light of reason is drowned out by a sea of morons who can't type to save their lives, insulting each other in a manner that makes kindergarten students bickering somehow look sophisticated and witty.

As for why PC gamers do that, ask yourself this question: When has a franchise ever been 'dumbed-down' for the PC? Therein lies the answer.

I've never seen console fanboyism against PC's, but it's not unreasonable.
Read through the posts of this man PS3 fanboy [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view/Indigo_dingo] and change your sentence quick!

In fact;
[HEADING=3] Everyone here who claims not to have seen a console Fanboy should read through Indigo_Dingos' [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view/Indigo_dingo] posts.[/HEADING] Not all of 'em (over 9000? thats insane!) but keep an eye out for the threads that seem like they would invoke fanboyism (best console threads, PC threads etc.)
Ah yes, him. I lurked for a good while before I eventually signed up for a forum account and there was no more surefire way to make me exceptionally angry than to see his name come up in a thread. It always shocked me when I would read one of his posts that wasn't divisive and inflammatory while asserting the superiority of the PS3 to everything.

It was a good day indeed when he was finally banned.

I do a fair mix of pc and console gaming myself but I see your point on how unreasonable it is for people to dub pc gamers as "tards"

Wait, what!? He actually did that sometimes? Show me where man.
I was shocked too! It was in a thread about possible villains for the next Batman film (darned if I remember the title).

England - the rest of the UK
America - Canada
Australia - New Zealand
PC gamers - console gamers
Hardcore gamers - casual gamers
Everyone who doesn't own a Wii - everyone who owns a Wii
Techies - users
Republicans - Democrats
Sheits(sp?) - Sunnis(sp?)
Nazis - Jews
North Koria - South Koria
Xbots - PS3 Tards
This list could get very, very long. It's just how people are, and it's certainly not a characteristic particular to PC gamers.

I just had to make that list longer, and you know its all true

If you think PC gamers are the only ones who defend their console like that, you're sorely mistaken. Xbox, Playstation, and Nintendo owners do this a lot as well.

But it is, that undeniable fact.
It is?

This question lay the groundwork for an interesting showdown if you ask me. Let's say we could take an FPS game and let the elite in PC users use mouse and keyboard, and link them to the elite in console gaming using a game controller, pitting them against eachother.

Now I for one can attest to that it's easier to use a mouse and keyboard, but I've seen some people becoming pretty fucking wicked at playing FPS games with game controllers.

Would be interesting to see that showdown. Interesting indeed...

I only read a page and a half of replies so dont bite me if this has been said plenty of times.

My problem with consoles is that if I go to a game shop to buy PC games, then I have to wave through the console section and maybe find the pc section, stored in a box in a dusty basement without any lighting. Seriously, some shops only have a stand of the budget games and nothing else. And to mix with that, the games that are ported to PC from a console are usually done so badly and lazily that it is insulting to a PC gamer.

Then there are companies (I am looking at you Ubisoft) who wont release DLC for PC versions due to the risk of piracy.

Just to point out, I have all the consoles at the moment, so I am not biased by only having one system to work with.

It is the same as when a 360, PS3, or WII fanboys defend their consoles. You will have fanboys on the console side and have fanboys on the PC side. I own a PC, 360 and a PS3. So I am not a fanboy to any of the companies.

the fact is, console gaming ruined gaming. PC gaming is where the quality has always been, because everything evolved on it
It's not really a fact if you don't have something to back that fact up (and I really want to see how it ruined gaming).
And you basically say that PC games are better than console games which is bullshit.

I don't blame them. If they don't make enough money they shouldn't release the games on a specific platform because that would make them idiots. After all companies only care about money.

Why do no consoles bother with a keyboard and mouse peripheral if its so superior? PS2 had a keyboard usable for FFXI Online for PS2, and even had a gameshark input keyboard and what not. They can do it, but dont...why not PC tards?
I think you'll find consoles are considerably superior in graphics to PCs. The issue is middleware engines - they suck. Before someone with some knowledge but no actual experience in graphics design chimes in about how the GTX 295A is much more impressive than anything in a console - that is true. And the games would look better if they were designed specifically to run on GTX 295 architecture. Unfortunately, that isn't possible, and PC games must be designed to run on a range of systems. A dedicated game engine (such as the one Halo uses) is obviously gives superior quality compared to an engine designed to run on all and everything out there.
