I'm sorry for your brother, but he probably should have taken more care with who he got himself involved with. Blame drugs all you want, but his lack of judgment was the issue, not the drugs.

I'm fully aware that it was his fault and not just the drugs. But drugs fundamentally effect how a person thinks and feels. It alters their personality and behavior to a point where they aren't the same human being anymore. Many become little more than layabouts wasting their lives on a temporary high.

My niece got into meth and was wasting away. She didn't call, he boyfriend who also did meth abused her and raped her, frequently. She plucked out her /eyebrows/ for reasons I can't begin to fathom... It took prison time to get her away from it.

Now I know not every pot head is going to go out and mug an old lady or anything but they are still fools for wasting their time on it. Drugs make people apathetic, lazy, forgetful. I had a friend who constantly smoked pot and if I didn't remind him of something he'd forget about it entirely. Not to mention he always smelled horrible because of the smell of weed clinging to every bit of clothing he owned.

I just never saw the appeal. Besides, I treat my body badly enough already, I may be taking steps to correct that, but I get the impression that puming heroin into my veins isn't going to help the muscles and weed into my lungs won't go over well with the athsma. It's a pro/con thing mainly.

I'm honestly not. He made his choices and suffered a very serious consequence. I was so young I can't even remember his face. Besides, he lives on permanently as an example for me. Knowing that drugs can and likely will lead to death.
