I think I'm just generally disappointed in this generations selection of games. I used to spend hours playing games for their single player content because it was the main focus and drew me in as much a any great film.
Now I find myself playing games less and when I do play it's often just multiplayer as I feel I'm doomed for disappointment. I recently nabbed a copy of Assassin's Creed off of Ebay and am really trying to care about the characters, but it all seems pointless when I can't fart without a guard turning around, blade drawn ready to kill me.
I'm disappointed that all games feel so similar and unoriginal. So many generic FPS, so much focus on catering to the mass market, pushing creative and daring projects to the back burner.
The most entertaining game I have played recently has been Pixeljunk Monsters. It's simple and its more than anything else FUN!! Something that I feel is often lost in this generation of games.
