I mean what game do you like to play after a hard day to unwind? And/or is there a game that you hardly ever play but it is comforting that you know it's there but won't play for long lengths of time?

For me my hard day game is L4D the mindless massacre of zombies helps me unwind.
Also a game I like to know I have is FFVII, I just like to know I can go back and play a game that I loved.(still hasn't got old yet.)

Now that I think about it, for me it's Final Fantasy XII, strangely enough. Played it so many hours that I can always jump in and feel good about it. Also, Shadow of the Colossus deserves honorary mention.

I don't know if it is what you wanted exactly. But, I always find myself going back to Max Payne 2 whenever I get really bummed out. Reminds me of simpler times...and diving through the air with uzi's a blazing is awesome!

My comfort game would have to be that Indie smash-hit 'I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES 1N IT!!!1'.
Whenever I ragequit a game of CoD, I slap this on for 10 minutes. There's something inherently relaxing about a twin stick shooter.

d&d or rpg games in general. Been liking Pathfinder alot recently. It just seems to mesh for me for some reason.

Hogs Of War for the PS1. I still find myself laughing at it and it induces some of the most competitive multiplayer for some reason. I can honestly say that nearly ten years on, I've still never got bored of it.

L4D, just because i really like it, and also Medieval 2 for some elephants with cannons on top of them to kill everyone on the other team, and Dawn of war Dark Crusade, on LAN with my friend. Tough it always ends up the same, we team up, build our necron HQ so it can float around ,and go for some epic bot killing spree. Just plain fun!

MadWorld. The Dual Chainsaw cuts people up so good, and the commentary somehow manages to stay fresh.

When I'm in a good mood, it's nostolgic games....Neverwinter Nights 1, Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, Dungeon Siege 1, Heroes of Might & Magic 4, American McGee's Alice, & the Aveyond series.

Then again, if I'm in a horrid mood & need to relax, I can just play any single-player that has a godmode cheat & my sole goal becomes "kill anything that moves." Because when you're in a shitty mood, dying even once makes it worse.

Ah. Pathfinder is pretty great. I'm part of an official playtesting groups for "Hex Games" and we tried out M-Force the other night. I'm not sold on their system, but man was it fun.

Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, Imperishable Night, Mountain of Faith, or Unthinkable Natural Law, all of which are games in the Touhou series.

Yes, I find those bullet hell games relaxing, why do you ask? >___>

If not those, then I'll just play Bejeweled or Peggle.

Oh, I can't resist Saints Row 2 for comfort. I just take my mind off things by doing something deconstructive.

Seconded. Fantastic game. The comedy alone is enough to calm the soul.
