- Democracy is a bad system. Almost all people do not have the knowledge to make an educated vote, or are simply too dumb "I don't vote on Obama because he's black."

- Religion should get the fuck out of governments, public healthcare and public education.

- Every human and animal has the right to live, no matter how evil they are.

- We should stop the aid for Africa all third world countries until they accept basic human rights. Recent example, the law in an African country to put gays to death (which apparently didn't pass though, but you should see the BBC documentary on it).

- Any life is worth infinitely much, therefore one life and a million lifes are equal. I do have problems with this one though.

- Any court case should be dealt with by using common sense. Common sense > laws.

- A jury system is R E T A R D E D.

- Rules are there to be broken.

- An eye for an eye is retarded.

- Freedom of speach does not mean you can shout obscenities at funerals.

- The Westboro Baptist Church are real life master trolls.

- Always show compassion, even to your worst enemies.

- Religion should not impede the advancement of mankind.

- Abortion is fine. A clump of cells is not a human being.

- Euthanasia is fine. I'd like to have control over my own life, thank you.

- Even if free will is an illusion, it doesn't matter since we still have the illusion of free will.

- Environment before economy. Always.

- Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

- Don't kill insects for the sake of killing.

- Children People killing or hurting animals for fun should be punished.

- Everyone in the world should learn English. convenient :)

- American conservatists are stupid.

- The government needs to provide free healthcare and public transport.

- Even someone born mental and physically handicapped has a right to live. The argument that life is not worth living for them is void since the handicapped person doesn't know any better.

- People that contribute nothing to society are fine. Not everyone has to saaaave the woooorld.

- Climate change is real. Facts do not lie.

- Immigrants that bring nothing to the country should be sent back. Except for severe cases.

- Being born in a country does not make you a member of that country. Dutch born Turks are not Dutch, they are Turkish.

- ****** is a perfectly acceptable word. They use it themself the whole time.

- Not everything is racism.

- Being evil is fine. Acting upon it is not.

- Humans are stupid. No exceptions.

- Morals are not religion exclusive. Morals arise from any functioning society, be it atheist or not.

- Russia and China are idiots for not helping better the world. Note: I do not nesseccarily agree with the west's perception of 'bettering the world'.

- Israel should be punished for crimes against mankind. You cannot just take another people's land and call it your own. Not even when the land was promised to you by a fairy.

- People that do not respect other views deserve no respect themselves. I do not care that this is hypocrisy. There has to be a line somewhere.

- We should stop spending money on the military. Instead, put it into scientific research, public provisions and general well being of people around the world.

- Real research should be started about the possibility of terraforming Mars. This might be just a little fantasy of mine :)

- Put Fox News CEO's and newsreaders in jail for crimes against mankind.

- Nuclear power is safe. Take the power plant in Japan, it survived an earthquake of 9 on the Richter scale and a fucking tsunami and still did not completely explode. Now imagine if that power plant would have conformed to todays standards.

- Stop talking about 'green energy'. Nuclear fusion is the future. Check ITER.

I feel paedophiles get viewed worse than they should. You rape a child, then by all means you're bringing down the rightful hatred of those around you, but paedophiles aren't destined to do harmful things. That they're judged as a whole for the worst possible manifestation of their condition seems wrong to me.

I also think that Led Zeppelin suck, I reckon that's reasonably controversial.

Only joking. My PERSONAL opinion about abortion is that you are essentially committing murder. However! The power do abort the child rests SOLELY with the mother. It pisses me off that dusty old men in state houses try to make laws against women having them. Essentially, I'm both Pro-Choice AND Pro-Life. I know. It's weird.

Capital Punishment is okay, the people convicted of these crimes are not worth keeping around. They do nothing but cost every taxpayer until they die. They are worth nothing and should be treated as such.

We should outlaw political parties:

Without everybody organized into over generalized groups, people woudl actually vote for who they think either will do the best job, or at least have to look at all the canndites, and not able to hit the "VOTE ALL X PARTY" option.

I believe that people should be able to do whatever the hell they want, as long as they don't fuck around with other people's choices in doing whatever the hell they want, or endangering their lives in any way or form. That seems about right.

Then again, this is subject to change in certain situations. Such as, say, war, where your opinions don't mean a fucking damn thing. Which is true, since your opinions are a potential subversive element in the war effort and need to be purged.

.....I swear, my mind is like a mix of a utopian democracy and a stalinist dictatorship sometimes.
Because that's the only way a utopia would ever logically run:

A dictator who is a good person, AND leader.

It has the best of facism (speed of making descions over issues) and democracy ( usual lack of malevolent leaders)

Oh, and also:

I think that Halo is a intellgent series, which not only has a good story, but an amazing one, with the extended universe on par with Star wars, WHILE ACTUALLY STILL HAVING A GOOD NARRATIVE.

Agreed.

I feel like the modern world is in a red scare, only the target is pedophilia, not communism.

Call of Duty World at War is by far the best one of the four modern games. And, to top this off, Modern Warfare, while decent, is way too overrated.

might ofend religious people, hippies, majority of america according to the news, and people who are easily offended

1.I believe people need to stop believing in religion because you won't know the truth untill your dead.
2.I think it's wrong that people even get offended let alone ban stuff because they're offended, I mean really if people want to get rid of everything that's offensive to everyone the only solution is to kill everyone in a way that can't be described as murder or manslaughter.
3.dead bodies should be used in science like that other person said in the other thread or they should be eaten by us/our animals.
4.I think we should stop keeping species alive that can't survive the world without our help unless they taste really good which is why cow will probably never go exstinct.
5.yeah lolicon hentai.
6.I think all people should be allowed to say all words even the n word or the word retarded.
7.I think brothels should be legal in america (where I am) and be run by the government (if it wasn't so corrupt that is).
8.I really really hate hippies that say we need to save the earth, because the earth is not in danger if it gets polluted we just need to adapt to the polution and things will be just as they were before althought things might look different

well that's all I have at the moment.

That's actually a pretty good view to take. I fucking despise the devout atheists who'll happily make fun of religious beliefs (or religions themselves) when their own beliefs are just as far fetched and without any kind of factual backing; it's all just "theories".

Like communism...
Not that i have anything against communism (far better than capitalism), but it doesn't work at all if a labourious job pays just as much (nothing) as an easy and relaxed one.

"According to the United States National Academy of Sciences,

The formal scientific definition of theory is quite different from the everyday meaning of the word. It refers to a comprehensive explanation of some aspect of nature that is supported by a vast body of evidence. Many scientific theories are so well established that no new evidence is likely to alter them substantially. For example, no new evidence will demonstrate that the Earth does not orbit around the sun (heliocentric theory), or that living things are not made of cells (cell theory), that matter is not composed of atoms, or that the surface of the Earth is not divided into solid plates that have moved over geological timescales (the theory of plate tectonics). One of the most useful properties of scientific theories is that they can be used to make predictions about natural events or phenomena that have not yet been observed."

It's still unproven though; the theories only exist because they agree with one another, and they're still just as far fetched as a man coming from nowhere and creating life and a sustainable environment in just 7 days.

I think we need to ditch the concept of cruel and unusual punishment and that criminals should be stripped of ALL rights and be made to suffer for their crimes and suffer severely. I'm mostly talking about those criminals that commit like rape and murder, not relatively minor stuff like robbery or something.
Naturally for this to work, a better means of determining the guilty from the not guilty will have to be devised. That memory downloading thing from The 6th Day would work.

I believe the world came about how it came about and humanity will never know the truth. Religion is wrong and so are we. We can guess, but we will never know for sure.

Just like with what happens when you die. Is there an afterlife? Do we become ghosts or go to heaven/hell? Do you go were you believe you go (if I thought I would go to Valhalla instead of Heaven, do I?)? The only people that know the truth are too dead to tell us so NEVER believe anyone who is not dead for they cannot know.

I believe life is NOT sacred, children are NOT special, and the world will NOT end anytime soon. The first 2 mainly because of George Carlin I will admit. The 3rd one because I am not an idiot.

I have several. Then again, I'm a Liberal, Pagan, Bisexual female living in the bible belt.

1) The US is NOT a christian nation. It's right there (several times) in the Constitution. People refusing to believe this does not make it false. No religion, or it's beliefs, should be taught in schools. No religion or it's beliefs should be allowed to dictate law. No religion should have carte blanche to to shit talk and demonize any other religion (or atheists.)

2) Illegal aliens should be rounded up and shipped back to where they came from, and border security needs to beefed to the max. I lived in Sanctuary City (AKA Houston, Texas) most of my life...I've seen what these people do. The "they just come here for a better life" story people use to pull heart strings is a total crock. Also, while we're at it, get rid of citizenship upon birth. At least one parent MUST be a citizen.

3) Free speech needs relooked. I understand the importance of the law, don't get me wrong. But when you have Faux Noise brainwashing a good chunk of the country like it does and hiding from any and all punishment behind the First Amendment, or Westboro Baptist being completely immune from punishment for the harm they cause people...No. There needs to be a way for other citizens to hold these people, and any others who would abuse the power, accountable.

4) Stop thinking your beliefs trump my rights. I should be able to marry any consenting adult I want. And the only other people who should have any weight in a decision over my body are the guy involved and my doctor.

5) Tax churches. They long ago stopped adhering to the "No political preaching" rule. And on that note, NO TAX DOLLARS for "faith based initiatives." If you can piss and moan about your tax dollars going to my healthcare, I should be able to deny you mine for your religious shit.

Think that's plenty enough to have me several quotes of flaming when I log in next.
didn't mean to quote all that just the first part about you, Holy shit...Pagan Bi in the Bible Belt. *gives you the 'you got balls' award* *claps* I want to thank you...for being you.

OT: What is it I think that would probably get me thrown out or flamed for saying normally?

Regions are giant cults. Really they are, their a double edged sword they do a lot of good things yes. But just about every 'religious' person I've known in my life have been nothing but a bunch of hypocrites. My dad, a former employee at work, a school Bully, All religious all huge assholes all hypocrites. In the news there's even more every day you hear about stupid people who say and do stupid things cause their religion dictates they do it. I'm not talking about praying or believing in a higher power. I'm talking about cussing out someone cause they didn't say 'god bless'. That said I also belief: Live and let live. You can have your belief's I'll have mine and as long as we're not shoving one onto the other we'll get along fine.

Pedophiles need to be executed. You know what...you rape a kid I don't care about your rights at that point. You violated a child you pay for it. Put a chip in em, put a bomb around their gentiles, shoot em in the frigging head. Pedo's are incurable. It's a sickness that can't be gotten rid off. No one has found a surefire way of doing it yet. And the longer they go on doing it the worse they become.

America is so sexually repressed, and gender specific it makes me sick. Of course this is a country started by people that Great Britain didn't want cause they were 'too uptight.' Every aspect of sex is treated like a dirty little secret to the point were we're programmed to be uncomfortable talking about it. And even laugh and giggle if you haven't broken that programming. As for the outdated concept of Gender Roles...remember the J Crew ad that had Fox new's panties in a twist. Yeah. speaking of which...FOX NEWS CAN GO FUCK ITSELF. How many times have I tried punching them threw the TV I can't even count.

Every single one of these militant anti-religious atheists are arrogant pricks with an overinflated sense of self-importance. Seriously, you guys are just as annoying as the "sheep" you deride. I'm an agnostic, so don't confuse me with some Westboro Baptist nutcase, but acting like self-righteous dicks to anyone who holds a shred of spiritual beliefs is a hypocrite.
Most atheists are aware of their tiny place in the universe, unlike religious people who think the world was made for them. That isn't self-important at all.

Plus, the OP asked people's opinions, so people are giving them. It's just the nature of the thread.

I respect your opinion and your right to hold it.

You didn't read the definition.

A scientific theory is an explanation of some aspect of nature that is supported by a vast body of evidence. Religion has no evidence. Therefore, the theory of evolution is vastly less far fetched than a man in the sky creating the world in seven days.
