the people who died in the planes in 9/11 had it coming except the ones that fought back.
I bet all the money I've ever had in my entire life you would have stayed right in your seat the entire team and quite possibly pissed yourself. It's easy to say you'd be a hero, almost impossible to be one.

So you're seriously, honestly, actually saying that a four year old kid, a pregnant woman, an eighty year old grandma, a handicapped person and countless others that for some reason aren't masters of hand-to-hand combat and in peak physical condition deserved to have died for not fighting back?

Well alright then.
You don't have to be a master of hand to hand combat in peak physical condition to stand up and do the right thing.
And while I have not had the misfortune to have my convictions tested I at least HOPE that I am willing to TRY and fight back against assholes with knives. If it were guns or explosives they were wielding it's another matter as those have a chance to destroy the whole plane with them going off. While unfortunate that children and elderly were caught in the majority of the people were of a decent age to stand up and not a one did anything. It's not like they hijacked a plane full of invalids here.

Okay, so a bunch of people get on your plane with knives. They might just be robbing it for all you know, and you aren't taking a shiv to the kidney for fucking American Airlines or whatever, so you stay in your seat. And the average person, going up against an armed opponent in decent physical condition, would get killed or seriously wounded almost immediately.
ROBBING IT?! Are you serious?! What kind of half-wit are you? Who robs a plane IN FLIGHT? This has nothing to do with taking a knife for a company, this has everything to do with not letting people with mere melee weapons take over a plane for whatever reason they might dream up. Once again I state I haven't had the misfortune to test my resolve but I sure as hell I hope I don't just let someone rob me on a plane. idiot
Right, because people on a fucking plane with knives are all criminal masterminds, and people being hold hostage are able to think clearly.

Also, before you call someone an idiot, look up DB Cooper. I'd love to hear your reply to that, but the moderators don't like it when people call others halfwits and I may never get the chance.
In the future you may wish to properly check your sources before you quote them.

D. B. Cooper is the name popularly used to refer to an unidentified man who hijacked a Boeing 727 aircraft in the airspace between Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington, USA on November 24, 1971. He extorted $200,000[1] in ransom and parachuted to an uncertain fate. Despite an extensive manhunt and an exhaustive (and ongoing) FBI investigation, the perpetrator has never been located or positively identified. To date, the case remains the only unsolved airline hijacking in American aviation history.[2][3][4]

That's quoted from the wiki about him. On that same page it's noted he hijacked the plane with a BOMB, not knives, a BOMB.
It's also worth mentioning he didn't rob the passengers he held them hostage. there's a LITTLE difference between a simple robbery and kidnapping
my stance has remained that if I am being held up by knives I sure as hell hope I have the courage to stand up and hopefully get enough people backing me up to do the same. They did not and thus they deserve their fate.

I see religion as a roadblock towards the advancement of humanity. At first it was needed so our ancestors could try to understand the world around them, and use that to drop their old beliefs and advance scientifically at an exponential rate as the years went by. Sadly, people didn't drop religion, the Dark Ages happened which stagnated scientific progress, all the while religion gaining more power and continually corrupting itself. Can you just imagine where we'd be now technologically if the Dark Ages never occurred? Where science wasn't put under ball and chain by gobbledy gook?

Next would be politics. Illegal aliens are criminals and should be treated as such. Send them back! If you're going to come to live in a different country, do it legally, or don't do it at all. I also detest how politics works. The self-centered taking office, benefitting themselves, then screwing over the blind masses who voted them in. If I could change things, I most definitely would. If you've read codex pages in the Mass Effect series, I'd remake society into how the Turians did things.

You asked "Who robs a plane IN FLIGHT?", to which I provided an answer, which is you consider insufficient. I never said he used knives, I was merely stating that people do rob planes, and if someone did it with a bomb a knife robbery isn't unfeasible. If I did not make that clear I apologize.

I'm done with this argument, because at this point it's rather clear that we have fundamentally different ideologies and any further arguing is just more likely to get us both moderated. In short, how about we agree to disagree?

I believe hippies/liberals/artsy guys/fancy pants's/other such related arseholes should go die. Slowly. Culture is not culture if it makes the world such a twisted piece of shite.

EDIT: I also want to rule the world, and I am not joking.

*Explodes* What Dark Ages? During that time, the Islamic world made insane progress. Europe came out of the Dark Ages by interacting with it.

If you choose to respond or not is your choice. but he did NOT rob the plane. he hijacked it and held the people ransom. there's a clear difference from robbery.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aircraft_hijacking
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robbery
perhaps this will clarify the differences for you
At least this will be the last response I get from you it seems. just get to wait for the next response now

Absolutely, no matter what, abortion is never an option.
Eptopic pregnancy (When the egg implants in the fallopian tube)? Remove the whole tube. Scarring from an abortion would probably only end in more eptopic pregnancies later on.

I think Mario sucks. It's boring, and too long. There, I said it, crucify me :p

Sonic is much, much better. Infinitely better. An example of a GOOD platformer. Mario should take lessons.

Also, Nintendo sucks these days, Activision makes too many sequels, women belong in the kitchen, men are smarter statistically, Islam is really the sequel to both Judaism and Christianity, so there is no need to fight, Episode VI is the best out of the entire Star Wars franchise, Derrick Green is a logical successor to Max Cavalera (for you Sepultura fans), KISS sucks, Van Halen sucks, 2012 is a lie, iPods are shit, Zunes are better since they serve their function as an MP3 player better, Apple as a whole is a consumer brainwashing corporation of idiots slapping cameras on things that don't need them, and last but not least, abortion should be legal since we have no right to tell a pregnant woman what to do if we do not know her.

I think one or two items in that giant list could get me banned from the site, but those are all my controversial opinions.

Oh and Stem Cell Research should be legal as well because of the huge medical applications. Why should we care if it kills an unborn, and unconscious, child? We have enough people on this planet as it is.

So it's not nearly as philosophical and intellectual as many of these contributions but...

I think Minecraft is one of if not THE most dull mundane and overrated "games" ever made

I think strict secularism should be enforced, I believe in the <a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kemalist_ideology>Kemalist ideology . Removing the effect of religion on governance is a great idea, and enforcing this kind of strict secularism has effectively removed the social conservative, which is great for progress. It leaves the middle and the liberal, exactly where I think things should be. Now I am not saying that social conservatives are bad people, or are wrong, but ultimately, they only slow eventualities. Conservatives now hold the same view of liberals twenty years ago, and twenty years ago, they held the same view of liberals forty years back. The pattern has gone on for most of history, although at different rates of change. Now I am not insulting social conservatives, or religion, or anything like that, but I think that is how the world can move forward at a quick enough pace for people.
what about the majority of religous people like myself who are actually liberals, and do not hold a literal interpritation to books like genesis, yet our kind hearted christian views, lead us to align with socialism and the liberal democrats in the UK.

most truely christian people in the uk don't see being a torry(conservative) and being a christian as compatible.

infact they contradict, yes theres some open conservative christians around the world (bible belt usa pops to mind), but its actually the very small minority of followers of the christian faith who are conservative minded.

I don't believe that the human race deserves the role of top predator, or top anything, for that matter. I feel ashamed of what we've done to our own planet, and I await the day that the human race dies out. We hurt the global ecosystem more than we aid it, and if the planet had any sense it would get around to creating that supervirus that is only deadly to humans.
Seriously, fuck this species.
Sorry to pick on you in particular but I've heard this opinion several times before and I don't mean this in a glib or offensive way but if you really believe that then why are you still alive?

Disclaimer: I'm not advocating that you or anyone-else commits suicide, as that would be terrible, but I'm curious as to how you justify your own continued existance if you believe that the whole human race should be extinct.
