Same as my obsession normally is: orchestral scores.

I'm particularly hooked on two tracks from the Mass Effect 2 soundtrack: "The End Run" and "Suicide Mission".
What a coincidence. I just bought Victoria 2 and the first thing I noticed about that game was it's insanely amazing orchestral soundtrack;
Dear lord...I think I just had an eargasm

This sentence (in any wording) always irks me. Not because of the religious part at the end, if that pissed me off I'd be a complete douchebag.
Take the drummer for instance. I've heard about 30 AC/DC songs now, and in very few of them does he use a different beat than the standard 4/4 rock beat. Hi-hat on every beat and half beat, kick on the first and third, and snare on the second and fourth. Crashes go in every now and then, of course. That's simple. Anyone can pick up drums and have that beat sussed in a week at most. That's not talent.
Unlike most bands, AC/DC, when playing live, don't do shitty fills inbetween songs, they play for 2 hours straight. It takes a lot of talent for a bloke in his 50s to play non-stop for 2 hours, no matter how easy the beat is.

I've been getting into a lot of drone recently, planning for burial, earth, sunn 0))), horseback, boris. All great stuff, though some of it is a little hit and miss.

I'm a bit of a fan of Tenacious D myself. Might watch the Pick Of Destiny later, actually. Recommend any good comedy musicians? Tenacious D and Weird Al are obvious ones.
The Lonely Island are funny, they do Jizz in my pants etc.
Yeah, a friend showed me them once when I was drunk. Needless to say, in my intoxicated state, I found them hilarious.
Flight of the Conchords are hilarious as well and pretty diverse in the music they play too.

Motown, Doo Wop, that kind of thing. I've just come out of an obsession with music from the thirties and forties, so it makes sense that I'm now currently obsessed with the fifties, sixties and seventies.

All my other musical obsessions remain unchanged and constant.

For about 4 or so months, I've been obsessed with Charon. I haven't really stopped listening to them, unless it's to listen to Type O Negative or Sentenced. I just can't get bored of them. Not yet, at least.

We all see the "What are you listening to" threads. They're all fine and dandy but there's never really any discussion. At least the ones I come across. So, rather than just what songs playing at the moment, what's the song or band you can't stop listening to? Why?

For example, I've dug up my old Powerman 5000 albums. Don't know what started it but since Friday I've let PM5K play almost non-stop. It's only been off when I've been watching TV. Brings back the old days of Smackdown VS Raw when I almost shit myself when I found out they were on there. I had been a fan of them for a few weeks, booted up Smackdown VS Raw, When Worlds Collide came on and I was like "HORRY SHEET!"

Anyway, enough of my rambling. Let the thread commence!
Powerman 5000 is the shit. Tonight the Stars Revolt, Transform and Destroy What You Enjoy especially (the albums that is, not just the songs).

However, recently I've been rather into Metallica again. Might be because my bro bought me S&M for Xmas. Damn that's a good album.
Everything in your post is excellence. Well, other than Destroy What You Enjoy. I thought that, save for a few songs, that album was pretty bad. Still, fair play to PM5K for trying new styles. It's what they've always been about.
