A huge MMO styled sandbox FPS world with 4 different factions, 24 hour servers, the entire goal of the game being to lead your faction to conquer the world. The news would be constant on the opening of the game and cutscenes would be made to show which side is winning. Yes this is multiplayer and yes, there would be more than 20 people in each battle, Im talking clone wars sized battles, if mutliplied by 1000.

The only thing that doesn't make TF2 better is TF2.

I stopped playing once once the polycount pack came... I could handle it before then. It mean, I love new weapons and hats. But the sheer shallowness of the polycount pack...

If you were given an infinite budget to design anygame you wanted, what would it be ?
include story and basic gameplay please and if u want the developer you'd want ot make it.
Sci Fi setting. Start off with something like Deus Ex - first person view point, ability to use guns and have various cybernetic augmentations. Add in Brink/Mirror's Edge style free running and Red Faction style destructible environments. Thief like stealth.

Add to that, Motorstorm/WipeOut style vehicle combat sections for ground vehicles, Ace Combat/Blazing Angels style air combat, and Wave Race style water based combat, as well as submarines.

Have a system to allow for swimming, diving, rock climbing, spelunking, so you can get everywhere - no invisible walls or anything of the like.

Then add in space combat in the vein of Freelancer and Privateer, again from a first person perspective, while giving you the option to command a larger starship from the captain's chair in terms of giving orders rather than piloting it yourself.

Make it an MMORPG like Guild Wars 2 with a persistent world where things happen and you choose to get involved, and procedurally generated, non instanced quests.

Semi-hardcore mode, if you die it depends on the situation whether you get revived. Fall into a sun, you're gone for good, get killed in a firefight, you might get revived depending on the jurisdiction and what kind of death insurance you have.

Since speech generation is going to suck, have it be in an unrelated galaxy where nobody speaks English, and instead uses made up languages like Klingon and Esperanto, so nobody recognises the problems with speech. Communication is then handled with subtitles by way of a universal translator.

I Kind of want to play a really detailed FPS version of GTA, but with COD's gun modding, saints row character editing, and car modding, Really deep virtual city that gives and takes without feeling cheap. Decent destructible objects like corners of building could be side swiped by cars instead of getting dead haulted. Lots of mission variety like sr 2, but with a deep bioware plot system. Maybe you could even go down a police game line if those are your choices or like a vigilante instead of criminal.

a cross between the upcoming "from dust" and "black and white 2"...

Possibly using kinect/PSmove... you know, because it would be kinda cool to interact with the world in that way.

I am a huge fan of god-games.

Mine would be a Devil May Cry that answers all the questions left by entries 1 through 4, takes place after 2, includes a seasoned Nero (who would have four styles like Dante), features the gameplay of 4, brings back the dark yet colorful atmosphere of 1, features more weapons for both characters than were featured in 3, and is based around a Dante behaving like his incarnations in 3 and 4 (not like 2 or *shudder* DmC). It would also feature enemies that look gruesome and frightening and fight much how they appear.

It would take roughly 20 hours, 10 hours for each character (who'd get their own distinct levels) to reach the game's end, which would be a thrilling balls-to-the-wall climax in which Dante destroys Mundus. Completing the game would allow players to go through the game again with Dante and Nero switching levels, and story would adapt as such (though it have to be a considerably sillier, ham-and-cheese-filled story to explain the switcheroo).

The game would come with a free can of Scotchguard so you could condition your pants to not get irreversibly stained from how much you'd be creaming them as you're playing.

A 3rd person shooter/MMO/RPG combination where every player is an assassin. Every mission is detailed and deep, with multiple methods of completion depending on the players' style (a la Hitman, but bigger).

Gaining levels does not increase health and other rudimentary stats; a level 1 player can kill a level 100 one if he's skilled enough. (A bullet is a bullet after all, it doesn't fly faster because of who's shooting it.) Levels instead only increase skills, so you can make better bombs, shoot more accurately, get better at fist-fighting, etc.

Alternatively, a zombie apocalypse FPS/RPG. I know we have fallout and stuff, but I'll like something more focused on zombie apocalypse horror.

I'd want something sci fi rpg, but with fantasy elements like magic and badass swords. A sandbox, but one with a good strong story in it. One that's cliche, but knows it is so can be funny about it.

Written and scripted by bioware, animation and prettiness by lionhead and world map by bethesda. Oh and a levelling system taken straight from oblivion (unless the skyrim one turns out to be better).

Oh and for an optional multi player mode, the assassins creed brotherhood system. Nothing to do with the story, just the actual multiplayer mode from AC bro.

I'd make fallout 2 again with better graphics and more interesting fight mechanics but nothing else changed.

Minecraft+Fallout(in general, not a single Fallout game)+Call of Duty = Salvation
Minecraft:building, crafting etc.
Fallout: the setting, equipment, etc.
CoD: Combat
And this would be some kind of Massive Multiplayer game, but so large world that it wouldnt feel crowded, but rather desolate.

Hmm, after giving it some thought I've come to the conclusion that I haven't played enough different games to construct something myself that I would feel qualified as a "dream game".

At first I thought of some huge and realistic non-combat travel game where you journey across the world uncovering mysteries and meeting interesting characters, but then I realize that's not what I want from a game. I don't want one experience that does everything well, I'd much rahter have a game that uses a simpler premise and then perfects the hell out of it. Like what I imagine Shadow of the Colossus might be, having not actually played it.

I'd make Nintendo team up with Bioware and have them make Zelda-game together.

Think about it. Nintendos great game design, combined with Biowares incredibly written story...

Let's just hope it doesn't become the other way around...

An FPS where you play in a literally interpreted version of internet jargon.
For example, in internet-world, Anonymous is a shadowy mob-like organization that controls the entire world, forum moderators are fascist government agents, Gamespot is a brothel, furries are bleeding-heart pinkos, and black people and women are the stuff of campfire stories. The player character is an anarchistic hacker who sets out to vandalize wikipedia (here represented as a graffitied-on library) and accidentally gets caught up in a war between the Church of Scientology (a fanatical cult. In the game, I mean.) and the internet's free hackers. Joining you are your collection of "friends": the "Pool's Closed" guy, a boistrous heavy weapons expert; AE-tan, an unhinged and sadistic muderess; The Epic Fail Guy (surprise, he screws up a lot); and Rick Astley. The game's world is peppered with internet culture, and serves to lampoon everyone on the planet, up to and including you.

The gameplay is a combination of stealth and run-n-gun: which is to say, while you can exploit the sprawling Deus Ex-style level design and be some kind of future ninja, you can dash that at any point and play the game as a slow-mo-and-contextual-scenery-riddled Lobby Scene simulator-- kind of like FEAR, I imagine.
It would be a nameless game something like
The Nameless Mod

OT: Fallout 3

Here's what I be taking from other games to make the ultimate sandbox

Army of Two - Adding accesories to every gun to make it perform better with the weapon stat upgrade from most Resident Evil games

Fable - Purchasing every single building on the map so the player is literally never too far from home

Saints Row - Character creation with voices & activities

Mercenaries - Calling airstrikes

GTA: Vice City Stories - The empire build system

Just Cause - A grappling hook to hijack everything in sight

A vehicle upgrade system in which the upgrades actually serve a purpose

Being able to upgrade gamg members

At least 40 weapons to each category

A huge city the size of six states

Upgrading character stats *Health, respect, accuracy, etc etc*

Over 600 vehicles of all kinds (2-wheel, 4-wheel, aircraft, you get the idea)

Aside from buying every building in the building, they can all, and I mean all be customized

First a big mech crossover game with stuff like gurren laggan, megas xlr, gundam,Another century episode, with square enix and others assisting.

the second would be a SSBB vs atleast 40 other animes, with increasing characters with downloadable content
