For me that would be Darksiders and might and magic dark messiah, both games are quite underrated in my opinion.

mines is treasures of the deep. its a ps1 game. I used to have a code to hunt whales... fun times
Oh yeah, I had that game. I loved how you could grind the early levels and give yourself super advanced weaponry and subs before fighting the higher levels. Games that only give you weaponry and gear suited for a given level after you have beaten the level- or gone halfway through it- annoy me.

EDIT: I originally played the game's demo on PS1, but for like 10 years I couldn't find the game. Finally, halfway across the country in California, I found a used copy in game store. I played it on my PS2. I went into the game store explicitly to find that game, I had hunted in several game stores looking for this game before finding it in that one. I just now remembered this. I found it several years ago. I live in California currently.

Warrior kings: battles.

My favorite part was the farming. Careful placement of farms and villages were an art to be mastered. The troop formations were cool and the combined arms element worked well. My troops need FOOD!

I dont know anyone who has played it.

I'll say what I always say when one of these threads pops up, War of the Monsters. It was an awesomely fun fighting games with giant monsters and fully destructible environments. If my friends and I were ever pressed to pick this or any other fighting game on the PS2, we'd always pick this, hands down.

Also, this needs a PS3 remake with new monsters, online compatability, new levels and 4-player brawls. It'd would sell like hotcakes, I guarantee!

My biggest two would have to be Panzer Dragoon Orta and the Otogi series. Both brilliant games, technically, artistically and gameplay-wise, but they didn't find enough of a market to keep going. Honestly, I would have missed them myself had I not been in a rent-happy phase at the time. I own them now, but none are backwards compatible so I can't replay them.

Well, Panzer Dragoon Orta is, up to the third level. Still pissed that Microsoft couldn't even finish what they started.

Dungeon Keeper, one of my more favorite games off all time. Too bad Bullfrog went away.
Oh, and this. Although the upcoming Dungeons is likely to be a major letdown, it's close enough to Dungeon Keeper that I'm willing to give it a shot.

Second Sight

It made me laugh, it made me hide, it made me get it on Steam after I lost the original copy.

Red Orchestra...simply the best war FPS ever made IMO, if you like realism that is.
Bullets ricochet *Machine guns anyway*
Your view waver if you sight your weapon too long. Attaching a bayonet worsens this effect.
There is no automatic recoil-return. And no crosshairs.
Stamina system, your accuracy degrades as you get more worn out.
A firing position system that allows you to "rest" your weapon against objects for increased accuracy and reduced recoil.
Tanks require two people to operate efficiently. Tank rounds can glance off if shot at the wrong angle.
Backblast from bazookas can kill.
Grenades are extremely deadly.
I could go on...but suffice to say it's a very immersive experience.

Primal. It's a... Third person something for the PS2. I haven't played it in a while, but it was awesome. Especially the gargoyle, who's name I forgot.

If I remember correctly, it has a female character who's not a slut. I could be mistaken, though.

I have quite a few but I'd have to say it' a tie between Baten Kaitos and Summon Knight Swordcraft Stories. Both fantastic games, yet almost no one I have talked to has ever heard of either of them.

Heh, I really don't expect much from it. Dungeon Keeper was a quirky kind of humour, Dungeons just seems corny. Never mind graphically and artistically less than equal. Still...it's not a style of game that you get to see enough of, so I'll likely grab it on discount or if a demo pops up.
I do like the colourful lighting effects though.

Planescape: Torment.

Seriously, definitely one of the best RPG's ever made, if not the very best. But it sold so incredibly poorly that there will probably never be any sequels. :´(

Halo 3 ODST. Much better than Halo 3 be sorely under appreciated.
I wouldn't call it under-appreciated considering it was freaking halo, but it IS far superior to Halo 3. I loved the original Halo, but couldn't stand Halo 3. At first I thought it was okay, but now I've soured on it to such a degree it has officially become the only Halo game I hate.

My pick is probably Urban Reign. See, most of you have never heard of this game, but it's the best 3d brawler outside of God Hand. Actually, it is to multiplayer-focused brawling what God Hand was to the single player side. It's deep, technical, easy to get into and looks quite nice for the platform (PS2). Urban Reign is also tough as nails on any setting higher than Easy.

Two other underplayed titles are Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath, a brilliant game that none of you played (which is why Lorne Lanning was basically driven out of business, thank you very much), and The Punisher, an awesome third-person shooter with intuitive controls, a pretty good story, classic Punisher (Garth Ennis era) characters and designs, tight shooting and the ability to torture enemies for information.

Ace Combat 4. It isn't necessarily unknown, but I definitely don't hear of it too much around anymore. Played that game to death when I first got it.
