Oh, and this. Although the upcoming Dungeons is likely to be a major letdown, it's close enough to Dungeon Keeper that I'm willing to give it a shot.
oh God that looks terrible! i'll just stick with my dungeon keeper 2, and screw this china MMO crap.
Heh, I really don't expect much from it. Dungeon Keeper was a quirky kind of humour, Dungeons just seems corny. Never mind graphically and artistically less than equal. Still...it's not a style of game that you get to see enough of, so I'll likely grab it on discount or if a demo pops up.
I do like the colourful lighting effects though.
Add to that the fact that the only other game by the developer is M.U.D TV, a rip on the old MAD TV, said to be quite good by its followers, while M.U.D got mixed and lukewarm reviews.

I get the feeling their MO is to impersonate older titles, then ride on the nostalgia wave to decent sales. Much like those fishies impersonating cleaner fish, then taking a bite out of the unsuspecting customer.

I was interested until I found this out.

Apart from that I'll say Evil Genius, and I'll describe it as Dungeon Keeper but with spies, secret agents, minions and doomsday devices.

Caveland.

It was the weird post-apocalyptic underground dwarf building/management/puzzler game.

Unfortunately I can't find the game disc itself, only the manual =(

One of the few vids I can find on youtube on the game, the starting credits:

Honeycomb Beat by Hudson Soft for the DS. Good music, a pleasant variety of modes and simple visuals make for a game that's only slightly good, but I'm only allowed to pick unheard-of games so that's the best I can come up with.

The Disgaea series. It's not unknown, but it's surely under-appreciated. It's like the fucking Call of Duty of tactical RPG world, and yet it's as under-appreciated as, I don't know, the Battlefield series. Pre Bad Company, of course.

How does it relate to CoD? Easy to pick up, hard to master; and the right combination of stuff breaks the game in hilarious ways.

Halo 3 ODST. Much better than Halo 3 be sorely under appreciated.
Also exceedingly better then... whatever you want to call Reach. gross... Really great rendition of halo that actually changed the formula, had a really cool and well told story, even if the characters were a little lacking.

For me? Oddworld all the way. I think maybe 1 out of 10 people that play videogames have ever heard of this fantastic series. cant even begin to say how cool it was... still so sad about fangus klot,

Evil Genius is fun, except for the game-breaking bugs.

I could sit for days talking about this subject... There are tons of very underrated games in my collection, at least what I consider underrated;

I really enjoyed Damnation; It was a very corny game with hilariously bad dialogue, but it was incredibly fun to play once you got into it.
Dark Sector was also a decent game with some neat ideas.
Legendary was a mindless shooter, but I thought it was pretty awesome. The studio's previous game Turning Point: Fall of Liberty was a bit of the same for me; mindless fun.

As for some truly unappreciated stuff; I thought Velvet Assassin was a good game, as well as Deadly Premonition (of course), The Saboteur and Metro 2033.
I even enjoyed The Bourne Conspiracy for what it was.

For some fairly unknown games:

Project I.G.I 1 & 2, a couple of stealth/shooter games for the PC. Both were quite good at what they were trying to be, and managed to be realistic enough for me to immerse myself in the experience.

Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth was brilliant in my opinion, and Pathologic was an occational masterpiece with it's pure surrealism.

I better stop here thought... Long post is long.

Baten Kaitos. End of Discussion. Doesn't get more unheard of than that
Fucking ninja'd, I was coming into this topic to tell people about that game.

Voice acting was passable at best, but every else was amazing.

The storyline, its characters, The music (OMFG! the music), and one of the most realised worlds in a jrpg, makes it one of my most favourite jrpg's alongside Chrono trigger, Final fantasy VIII, and star ocean the second story.

Brilliant, brilliant game, can't recommend it enough.

Primal. It's a... Third person something for the PS2. I haven't played it in a while, but it was awesome. Especially the gargoyle, who's name I forgot.

If I remember correctly, it has a female character who's not a slut. I could be mistaken, though.
I remember that one! I remember it being alright. Not fantastic, but quite good. By the way, there have been a number of non-slut female characters in video games.

I'm a bit surprised no one's said Okami yet. I'm not sure how obscure it really is, though.

As for mine: Uplink, which is on Steam now (so you should go play it), and Commander Keen. Seriously, I talk to people all the time who have never heard of that one, and it makes me a sad panda.

Mine is Tombi for the PS1 (I'm not sure about how popular it was, but I never hear anyone talking about it, soooooo...)
Tombi was pure awesomeness, jumping and biting those pigs! It's the greatest platform/adventure game I ever played on any playstation :p
Though it could have had better directions, for some reason I was almost lost on what to do next... (Anyways, the leaf level was awesome!)
Did you complete the game? I thought the ending was awesome...

Oh yeah, the ending was amazing: defeat the evil pig and fly away on a dog, and then the very last shot of the bracelet and the fruit was somehow really great...

I like you...
For me I would say that "kane and lynch: dog days" is a pretty decent game. I just think that most people were turned off by the first one so that they kind of quickly dismissed this one before giving it a shot. The multiplayer has a great concept going for it and if there were more people playing online then they could definitely have a lot of fun with it. Thats just from my own personal experience though...

Never noticed any bugs of that caliber.

Makes me feel good that I own over half the games mentioned in the thread and I'll trot out my usual answer to this thread: Omikron The Nomad Soul.

Gotcha Force on the Gamecube. It's like Pokemon but with third person action and with toy robots! Some of the robots were cool and the action was awesome! It's addicting that you can collect the defeated robots and you get to use them although some of them require parts to unlock the rarer ones.
It also had some excellent soundtrack. The downside that it did get repetitive and the dialogue were bad (there was a lot of "mmmmmm" sound.
