I can never tie down a favourite, it changes too often. One near to the top of the list has always been Arcanum, however.

Halo: CE. A game I can never ever, get rid of.
KOTOR 2. My first RPG experience an my most memorable one.
Fallout 3. The atmosphere and 50s style really make this game enjoyable.
Mass Effect 1. Explorations, tight-knit characters.
Hesitantly, ME3 for its ingenious inventory and power recharge system. Its combat and multiplayer are also my favourite out of many games.

Gothic II.

It's more or less the reason why I chose my avatar. The game just has everything I enjoy about RPG's. Challenge (the satisfaction you can get by melee-duelling an Orc Elite at Chapter 1 and defeat him with no cheap tricks is simply amazing), environment (it has a pretty nice variety, open fields, dense forests, barren wasteland, swamps, a snowy tundra, etc), a pretty good storyline - maybe not the most original, but it is well executed and it can draw you in, replayability (three different factions with exclusive quests and stuff), some good memorable and interesting characters, a pretty decent combat system (it actually works very nicely, it can be a little challenging to master but with the right skill (as in actual player skill) you could defeat some of the toughest enemies at level one with a fucking wooden branch) and a great expansion pack to boot!

So yeah, an entire block of writing with minimal full stops explaining why I fucking love the game :D

I reply to this thread with the same game every time. Homeworld. The only way I can think of to improve it would be to give Homeworld Cataclysm's better controls and UI to Homeworld 1. Nothing else, just the controls and UI. They're ever so slightly better.

Recently though, I've gotten into SC2, and that might actually beat Homeworld. I can't decide. The single player was superbly well done; multiplayer is the best multiplayer RTS I've played in terms of balance and the rank system makes it interesting even for low level players. The community is unmatched too. I'd need to wait until they've released all three parts to judge it fully though. WOL alone isn't enough to beat Homeworld in my books.

Red Dead Remption. A great story, a fantastic ending and two of the best Video Game characters ever - John Marston and Dutch. It may be Grand Theft Western but that's what makes it so great.

I can't chose between Fallout 3, Assassin's Creed II and Abe's Exodus. Fallout was what got me reinterested in gaming, ASII is as close to perfect as you can get in my eyes and Abe is the game that's special to my dad and me.

Persona 4. (Can't wait for 5)
Jak and Daxter. (the whole DAMN series)
Mass Effect. (All of em, just give ME3 a better ending!)
Croc 1 & 2
Red Dead Redemption
Saints Row 2
Fallout 3
Skyrim. (gimmie DLC)

I was really surprised when no one said Persona 4.

Persona 4. It is perfection itself. For some reason I think the HD re-release on the Vita looks worse visuals-wise for some reason.

It's too bright. Weird.

ME3 needs a mention as well, the only issues are the occasional glitches in the animations and when Tali decided she wanted to try being an Infiltrator for this one cutscene. Cue the very talkative wall.

Oh and the ending, but I think that Indoctrination Theory is the best thing that's come out of this debacle. It's really interesting to read through. I do hope Bioware manages to pull something back with this rumoured DLC.

Also Fallout New Vegas, nice work upstaging Bethesda at their own game Obsidian! My entire Skyrim playthrough was plagued by the nagging feeling that Fallout NV had done all this stuff before... But way, way better

Baldurs gate, I just LOVE IT!

I've been playing the game since I was 8 years old. The first one is my favourite, I always go for the challenge it presents since you have to play smart and always remember to SAVE!

Over 60 playthroughs and hundreds of failed attempts at being a rogue/bard and I still love it and play it every day.

Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando if I have to pick a specific game from the series, is easily my favorite game of all time. Call of Duty 4 is second just because my 50 days of multilayer gameplay on that game speak for themselves.

Its hard to say... Possibly Jak and Daxter was the last time I laughed and genuinely had a great time playing a game.
Most games these days I just try to complete everything whereas in Jak and Daxter I can spend hours exploring.
