Project Zomboid, of course- who doesn't love free-roam zombie survival? You can make free-standing barricades, now- and, consequently, you can make fortresses just chillin' in the street.

Oh, Space Station 13 probably deserves a mention- as long as you are on a server that has Admins who actually like to roleplay. So, not the Goon ones, then.

If I get to pick three, they're probably...

Minecraft: no surprises, more on..
The Path: Great exploration, love the mystery and atmosphere of it.
Recettear: Lovely jRPG/Shop simulator with fanastic humour.

Cave Story, definitely.

Also, Exile III / Blades of Exile, although those games were released before the term "indie game" came about.
Awesome :D I loved the Exile series. Might have to give them a replay soon.

Cthulu Saves the World, its on the XBLA and it's really funny. I enjoyed it despite being turn-based :D

Favorite indie game? For me it's a pretty tough call between a dozen-or-so, so the one that instantly sticks out in my mind right now is Aaaa! A Reckless Disregard For Gravity. It's a great little game that involve jumping off of futuristic buildings and getting points. You also have to be wary of breaking bones on the way down. It's great fun and worth the $10 it is on Steam.

Lessee...

1. Aquaria [http://www.bit-blot.com/aquaria/]
2. Braid
3. Iji (and it's free!)
4. Killing Floor
5. Amnesia: Dark Descent

That's the most of the list I can think of at the moment. I also like Mount and Blade, and I've played it for super-long periods of time, but I don't feel like it's as much a pinnacle of game design.

I'm going to go with Star Ruler. I love being able to design my own ships and take over the galaxy. (If anyone can suggest other games like it that would be cool, I've played Sins of a Solar Empire though). Penumbra (and Amnesia if it counts), Super Meat Boy and Minecraft are second though.

Super Meat Boy at the moment. It's the only one I could play through quite a few times.

Amnesia the Dark Descent would be it for me.
The game is so well done - I can't help but feel the developers are sadistic little bastards for making this trully horrible (yet fantastic) game.

Minecraft, Super Meat Boy, Terraria, The Impossible Game.

Those are the only four I play anyway.

My favourites would be Minecraft and Killing Floor, but I also loved:

Defense Grid: The Awakening
Audiosurf
Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale (however it is WAY overpriced)
The Ball

Currently playing Terraria... it's alright, but I can't say if it will become a favourite or not.
