Super Mario Bros. 3, back at the tender age of 4.

I used to mix it up with some Commander Keen, too.

Pacman on some sort of handheld gaming console, which belonged to my brother.
Still have it somewhere. It's round, yellow, only plays PacMan and takes 4 D-cell batteries.

That one ski game on the old Windows 95 computers. That one where the snowman would chase you and eat you. That game was awesome.

My very first memory of gaming was getting killed by an Octorock and crying for 10 minutes.

Playing Snake and Frogger on DOS.. Probably around 1990 when I was 3.. Then later we got Jungle Jane, and that was a friggin EPIC game! That was when we got a real color screen, so maybe around 1992 ish.. It was at least a few years before we got Win95..

I think we had commander keen before we got the win95 machine, but I really don't remember..

Oh man.. that computer was SICK! It had over a GIGABYTE HD!! I remember my dad saying "Just install whatever games you want on it.. It will probably never get filled up."

Then, on win95.. Guess what I played : ) DOOM!!! : ) 8 years old and playing Doom : ) Of course, with godmode on and hardest difficulty, running around with the chainsaw : )

Realising that if you triple-jump into a certain level in Super Mario 64 then the water level starts off high...

And wondering why I couldn't walk up the staircase...

Oh man I remember the staircase very clearly...Hours wasted. But I was young and as far as i was concerned it has to end somewhere that and somehow it was fun.

Our first computer was rather outdated by time we got it. The first game I ever played was asteroids. Thankfully we got a new computer soon after that and suddenly Age of Empires entered my life. It was a relationship that endured many years.

Playing Super Adventure Island with my father on the SNES.

But my brother who is 11 years older than I was a gamer since before I was born. I've been playing games since before the SNES came out, I was just too young to remember. Also, for a given value of 'playing'.

Playing Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Season on my my GBC. I was only 5, and I wasn't smart enough to figure out any the puzzles, so I just kept killing monsters in the first dungeon until Maple came fluttering in and I could steal the magic ring she had on her.

Man, even as a low attention-span five year old, I was still grinding like all hell.
