Either playing pokemon yellow on a new gameboy color I got one christmas, or watching over on of my dad's friend's shoulder as he played C&C Tiberian sun.

Dunno which came first though...

Probably some educational games on the Atari 800 along with Pac-Man and loading games by tape.

Any time anyone bitches about loading for more than a few seconds, I just laugh compared to what it took to load games by TAPE.

My first memory was playing Age of Empires 2 with my dad. We were always the blue, the enemies red and green. Good times.

Hell of an introduction to the genre.
Sorry, but exactly how old were you when you first played this?
5 or 6 (so 1998, 1999 around that time frame) when I first played it when visiting my cousin's house.
Hmm, the game that allows you pay pay hookers to see their pixilated tits, and then kill them to get your money back?

Not saying im on the high ground here, what with me killing tens of nazis every level of the game i first played, but still...

I remember playing Atari 2600 back when, but that's just mashed memories of a bunch of games. My first true vivid memory of a game was when I went to a friends house and he was playing the original Super Mario Bros. for the NES. I was blown away by the graphics, sounds, and side-scrolling gameplay. My life was forever changed because of that moment, probably moreso than any other event in my life. That is not at all a negative.

Definitely Super Mario Land on my very first game system ever, that wonderful gray brick, the Gameboy.

Actually, I'm sure I played Tetris first, but my 5-year old mind didn't immediately comprehend the objective of the game...so, Super Mario Land it was. Certainly got my share of time into it, I think it took me months to finally get all the way through that one.

That Gameboy kept me company all the way through grade-school and beyond. I was still playing that thing occasionally in middle school.

I used to play a game about a green martian with plungers as hands on an ancient PC. It was awesome. I was about 3 or 4. I think it was called Cosmo's Adventure or something!
Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure, first PC game I ever played.

Memories....

Playing my brother's Pokemon Red as long as I could because I wasn't able to save. I got up to Cerulean sooo many times before I got my own Pokemon Blue.
First vivid memory of being engrossed in a game.

Edit: Carmen San Diego.

Age 4. Watching my brother play the Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros., and Duck Hunt. Later in the year, I've watched him play Sonic the Hedgehog, Street Fighter II Turbo, Super Mario World, and Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (A Christmas present I'll never forget).

It pretty much kept going on like that until I started playing Pokemon Blue Version after he got Pokemon Red a year earlier.

I remeber either at a friends house playing super mario 64...no wait that was later. My first memory was my dad setting up the PS1 when it first came out. I guess he was interested in it although he isn't now. All we got wiuth it was an ancient Jampack(before they called them that)where I played the demo of Crash Bandicoot. From then on I was a gamer. I also remember getting a gameboy color for my birthday and playing Pokemon blue on it. I got stuck in a metapod Vs. Metapod battle and had to reset :p

Ocarina of Time and shitting my pants at the shadow temple. I tried to go through it and each time I would shut it off. To this day at 14 years old, I have only beaten that dungeon once. When I was four I was like," Lets go through this door, a couple of hands okay AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" Dead Hand scared me shitless. Another room had about six ReDeads and I hated those things. My brother got so tired of playing it he had me do it myself when I was seven. The screams, the screams.

For me, playing Goldeneye 007 at my cousin's house. Man, that game was awesome. I remember some rocket launcher-thing that looked like a pencil.

The first memory I have of EVER playing video games is when a family friend went out and bought me a SNES. I also received the games Duck Hunt and Super Mario Bros. So, Duck Hunt would certainly be my first gaming memory. And what a memory it is.

Playing Goldeneye 64 with my older brother when I was 3. Both of us were playing as Oddjob.
