Sandbox--Red Dead Redemption
RPG: Turn-Based--Pokemon: Soul Silver
Platformer: 3D--Super Mario Galaxy 2
Platformer: 2D--Super Meat Boy
Shooter: First Person--Halo: Reach

I have a hard time choosing a single Game of the Year...different genres have different qualities that make them great. Is Halo's addictive multiplayer better than pokemon's customization?

Going to go ahead and mention my high expectations for Kirby's Epic Yarn, Mass Effect 2, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Sonic Colors, Metroid: Other M, and Sonic 4.

In case you couldn't tell...bit of a platformer fan ;)

PS. Special shoutout to Epic Mickey--mostly because of my inner Disney fan, Minecraft--which technically hasn't been released yet, and World of Warcraft: Cataclysm.

ME2.

Red Dead was a close second, but upon beating it, I didn't feel compelled to play through it 7 more times. Unlike ME2.

Mass Effect 2. Just like Mass Effect, but better (except that they dropped the naked sex scene...).

Red dead redemption and Mass Effect 2
But I am going to give it to Red Dead Redemption because it was more original and not a sequel. Plus the story was slightly better then Mass Effect 2
Red Dead Revolver would like to speak to you.

OT: Halo: Reach, for being excellent in both singleplayer and multiplayer (shut up, everyone) departments. Then Mass Effect 2, for epic characters.

I need to play some more games made in 2010.

It's a close race between Mass Effect 2 and Fable III for me. Maybe I'll have to go back and play through them again to figure out the worthy winner.

Starcraft2 in the AAA category, because of all the pretty titles of 2010, SC2 still has the most actual gameplay.

Super Meat Boy wins everything else. It's an original take on the genre, but it still plays like a videogame. It even sounds like a videogame and I just love the music. Finally the game is very challenging, without getting frustrating.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned any of the great XBLA games this year.
1. Scott Pilgrim: The Game
2. Costume Quest/Grubbins on Ice
3. Dragon Age: Awakening/all the other DLC (I'd just say DA:O, but it came out last November)
Runner Up: Halo: Reach (The multiplayer is still broken, even after all the beta testing)

Mass Effect 2, easily. I found myself uttering that this game seemed to be tailor made to my preferences, and as such it is my new favorite game of all time. Runner-up is Starcraft 2, the best RTS I have ever had the pleasure of playing.

Mass Effect 2 definatly. What else? I'm a massive Mass Effect junkie. I mean come on, it's the PRIIIIZZZEEEE (Cookie for who gets the reference).

It's just such a fantastic game and i've probably got over 200 hours playing on the game, enjoying the world and having fun with combat, story and listening to characters. It's fantastic!

Final Fantasy XIII, no contest. So many people seem to hate it, but I still can't get enough of it.
Fair play to you, I only really liked it for some of the characters, but the game itself... I detest it. Bought the LTD Ed too (Which, sucked for the price I payed for it) £60 wasted, I just felt no motivation to play it. :/.

OT: I honestly hate to say this, but Call of Duty: Black Ops. I found the campaign on that spectacular. It was constantly breathtaking. Thats the only reason, not at all for the MP, just the Campaign.

SHOCKER: Mass Effect 2.
It's the only game I can honestly say I was mega excited for, and as I first started playing it I was like 'THIS. IS. AWESOME'. Never had that feeling for a game before:'].

ALTHOUUUUGGGH! I must say, Final Fantasy XIII is my 2nd place, and it's not far off first either...
Don't understand why it gets so much hate...I reallyreallyreally enjoyed it!
I might go play some now actually...

...well, after I finish yet another playthrough of ME2;D

WOAH STOP THE PRESS WAS BAYONETTA 2010?!

ASDFGHJKL. Right, well, that is a VERY close second...actually...

No, my favourite game for 2010 is Bayonetta. I've never played through a game so many times I don't think; and it. was. a. blast. Games that fun and over the top are rare nowadays; all we seem to get is explosions and boom and and shapaw [I'm looking at you Black Ops >_>], but rarely do games be so outlandish...and manage to pull it off.

Truckload of fun.

...And this is my longest post ever. DAMN MY INDECISIVENESS.

Heavy Rain or God of War 3. Can't really decide. I like God of War 3 alot, but even though heavy Rain's intro is just a pain, when it gets good, it gets really good...
