Sadly, I'm not joking... It's a good thing no one knows about Shrewsbury.
Telford... Ahhh... my home town, the town that created the industrial revolution, and is now the worlds greatest chav city... Fuck
EDIT: oh yes, we also are famous for the most ridiculous road systems, with more roundabouts per people than almost any of town in the world

Mine is famous for being one of the most busy and important ports during the industrial revolution. We kept the world running.

Now it's horrid.

Wow, who's right?
I believe we are both right. There is the garden called the uh, "the Dingle" (I'm not kidding) in Shrewsbury Quarry which has, well, shit loads of flowers and trees as one would expect from a garden. Also it's filled with bridges seeing that it crosses the Severn and the Rea Brook and there is even a poem about the number of bridges in the place (as I recall) and Charles Darwin was born there at the Mount House. He's the only famous resident that I know who will be known internationally, others are more prominent in the UK

Lol, everyone is in Shropshire these days for some odd reason, as for me I just moved to London, not necessarily a step forward I must add.

We spawned John Cleese.

And before some arsonists came along, we had one of the worlds few remaining piers. That thing went up like a cat covered in petrol.

My home town (or at least, the city I am currently residing it) can claim to be the aircraft capitol of the world. More airplanes are produced in this city per year than anywhere else in the entire world.

Birth place of John Logie Baird, the inventor of the television.

To commemorate him, there's a big erection on the sea front. You've got every right to giggle, because it does actually kind of look like that.
I thought Philo Farnsworth invented the TV?

EDIT: Never mind, apparently Philo was more so a pioneer of TV electronics.
