I think, 108 or something?
I don't know enough about IQ to argue for or against it, but it must be sort of important as aren't you legally classed as retarded if you get an IQ score below a certain point? 170 or something?
Wow we appear to be pretty much the only two people here who aren't a) geniuses with the world at our feet but can't be bothered to take advantage of the wonderful gift of an IQ so high one can earn large amounts of money utilising said gift.
Seriously... IQ scores don't earn you anything.

Determination is 1000 times more important than IQ results.

And whoever gave you the notion that you have 'the world at your feet' if you've got a high IQ is, to be blunt, completely delusional.
With people banding about numbers around the 170 mark at that point there are grants available and if someone has that level of aptitude for numbers and logic there is a lot of research money available (well certainly a lot more than there is for the arts/social sciences.)
Grants like that aren't based on having a high IQ.

If you have a maths/physics/whatever degree, sure.

But That's independent of IQ.

IQ is a very abstract number, and not directly useful for anything. It gets used by various groups as a prediction of how good you might be at certain intellectual tasks.

But it makes no guarantee about whether a person has any social skills, ability to commit to hard work, determination, etc.

(As I said in an edit to the message you are quoting, Ironically, because people with high IQ's can in a lot of cases do well in school without really trying, it really does make it more likely they'll learn to be lazy.
Why make a huge effort when doing the bare minimum seems to be good enough?

It's only later on, when you're much older, that you realise the negative consequences that this has, and then find yourself having to work around a lifetime of bad habits.)

Well, I took a home test from Mensa (which isn't official since it isn't moderated, even though I know I didn't cheat and that I completed it well within the time limit, I don't see why I should have to pay a tenner just to get a "true" score, I don't even want to join their precious little club.....oh, right, rambling) which gave me a projected score of 155. Since I've read that IQ as a quantity stops being remotely accurate above 150 (not to mention that it's not a valid value by any stretch of the imagination) I'm going to say that my IQ is equal to infinite...fine, I'll extract my head from my innards and stick with 155-ish.

Last time I had an official IQ test was when I was 13 and in School. I got 136 at that point.
I've done these silly web ones and I always get the mid 130's but as anybody who knows can tell you that IQ doesn't mean much now. It is a sign of your logical skills and all that jazz but unless you apply yourself, it doesn't mean you're going to set the world on fire with your dazzling genius and then land all the hot nerdy babes.

I know this because I'm the exception to the rule. I've landed all the hot nerdy babes from here to Alpha Centauri, true story!

142. Mensa Win.

Although the entire idea of an "IQ" has been discredited due to the theories of multiple intelligences, plus the idea that you can in any way properly quantify intelligence.

But 142.
Win.

Doesnt really help me much, what with one thing and another I am a 19 year old college dropout. I am just smarter then most of the people in the average room. (Average IQ within the United Kingdom is around 103, if I remember rightly)
Trudat. I'm not a dropout but I didn't do anywhere near what I should have done in college and while I passed my courses, my grades weren't exactly great. A high IQ and the fact that I'm actually intelligent didn't help me much when I was skipping classes to go out with people and also didn't help me much when I was losing track of time playing video games/watching movies/stopping out too late and not getting anywhere near enough sleep and struggling to function the next day.

My most monumentally stupid move was the night before one of my exams. I didn't go to sleep til around 3am and the next morning I did get up and go to my exam but I was so absolutely shattered that I was struggling to focus.

Mensa told me that I had an IQ of 180. That's great and all, but it doesn't help me remember stuff.

According to MENSA i have 226 or more. You can to a 60 minute IQ test on their website which is just about as fun as it seems.

However, I doubt IQ testing has any relevant today. It's preposterously flawed.

Holy cow, what a blatant epeen measuring thread.

Also, if half of everyone is below 100 in the IQ test, and half of everyone is above it, SOMETHING'S full of shit here.
