I'm studying (well, researching) for a Doctorate in Inorganic Chemistry (at least in paper; in reality my research topic is in Computational Spin Dynamics).

Getting Masters in Education. Course work is SOOOOOOO BOOOOOORING, but you'll never be unemployed. There's never a shortage of stupid kids that need education.

This sounds like the roll call during the NFL games lol

I'm unemployed, hopefully about to start a traineeship in Journalism for the beeb. For advice? Don't do anything half heartedly, and don't get distracted. Study hard, achieve your goals, or you'll be a stuck in the rut looser like me. Sounds cliche, but it's oh so true

Also try and work in something you are likely to get a job in. Something boring like accounting, or medical science. Never underestimate the need for a job, no matter how dull it is

Scratch that. Attention people taking Computer Science at University. Could you give me you're opinions on the course please? Would be massively appreciated
What do you want to know? Beyond suggesting going to open days to make sure the Uni and location are the kind of thing you expect, it's hard to give an opinion on my course beyond "it's alright" - the subject isn't too hard if you apply yourself, it's fairly interesting, and you can get a lot out of it. On the other hand I find a lot of my coursemates to not be (how to say) socially accessible.

I'm pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice focusing on Forensic Investigation. And to pay the bills...I'm a karaoke DJ. And yes, I love what I'm studying and I love what I do.

Studying English and American Literature at University... Still haven't really thought seriously about a job fro when i leave which is a bit silly as I'm in my final year. I suppose I'll try and get a job writing for some sort of publication (or even just a job anywhere) to gather money to afford to take a Masters and then from there try and actually start up some sort of publication or find one that interests me enough to want to write for.

If all else fails maybe I'll settle for HELLO magazine >.>

Ha, not fucking likely. (I apologise if anyone here writes for that magazine *blush*)
Awesome. I study English with Britisch Literature and a minor in American Literature. wooot :)) And I do not have any idea either what to do for a living, but definitely NOT for HELO magazine..never..

CS major and college freshman.
Probably gonna fail my CS class (intro to programming with Python, I failed the midterm and think I failed lab midterm, but the lab instructor never e-mailed me my midterm so I'm gonna see him during his office hours tomorrow) though.
I can't withdraw from the course because my scholarship requires 15 credit hours per semester and it's a part of my major.
That, and it's a fun class when I can actually get programs in JES to do their thing.

I work as a graphic designer at a local signmaking company. It's fun work, very diverse, and the thing most appealing to me is the fact that I'm involved in the entire process. From designing a company vehicle to wrapping a 8x6 foot fullcolour print around the actual car. It's a great job, but it's not exactly the branch of graphic design that appeals most to me. That'd be 3d character developement.

About 3 days a week I'm still studying (graphic design, who would've guessed), currently in my final year. I'll be done by february. I'm focusing on human anatomy in both 2D (pencil & paper, wacom & photoshop) and 3D (digital sculpting like ZBrush), and recently started keeping track on a simple blog [http://artbyruben.blogspot.com].

In my spare time I run a small company with some classmates, providing anything from 3D animations, video editing, special effects & motion graphics etcetera. Not trying to make a living out of it but hey, we're having good fun and a few extra bucks every now and then sure don't hurt.

I have a fairly diverse background, for instance I've also studied classic guitar building (you know, the actual art of NOT using any electric tools) in Belgium, and I will always have a knack for the traditional arts such as drawing, painting, sculpting and woodcarving. I just wish I could combine them all, like my big hero Stan Winston did (rest in peace old lad).
