For a capital city, there's a whole lot of trees and not much to do. Everything's spread out, so unless you have regular access to a car it's a pain to get around. Bus trips can take well over 1H to get anywhere important. The closest thing that's not a house is 20 minutes away, which is a very small store.

Also yes, the Vale is a hole and the bane of my life to drive through, I never go that way if I can possibly go another way. Bridle road is bad but it's got nothing on the Vale when it's busy...which is always it seems.
North-West London. My part of the street is relatively middle class, although there are four estates within one or two minutes and I've been mugged/threatened with stabbing a couple times. Never had anything significant taken though. (I was gonna buy some monster munch with that pound!)

I live in a Canadian (Ontario) suburb, so generally cold and boring. Lots of kids. Quite multicultural.
The development I live in is between towns and fairly new (7-8 years old). Middle class, quiet, good amount of space between houses. It's not a bad place besides the fact that nothing ever happens around here.
Meh I live right across the street from my University's campus, literally, in an apartment building. The surrounding buildings are Apt. buildings as well. it's pretty quiet during the day cause everyones gone to class or work and what not, during the weekend you can usually hear things going on. My apartment faces the street, campus, and all the sidewalks and whatnot, its actually a really nice view, especially when girls are out running
Small neighborhood in a rural area, a few minutes drive outside of town. It was apparently a pretty respectable area about 30 years ago, but these days there's several meth dealers on the street. It's not as bad as it sounds, though; they pretty much keep to themselves, unless you seek them out. In fact, the one that lives next door to me is one of the better neighbors I've had over the years. At least I don't have periodic encounters with large livestock from this one (think bulls and wild hogs that are being kept in captivity for a while to cut down on the gaminess.)
It really is! My landlord is an old hippie (think Tommy Chong's character from That 70s show) that owns the building and the coffee shop. The rent is amazingly cheap as I did a LOT of work on the upstairs after I moved in. About the worst thing I can say about it is that on the weekends he has live music downstairs and that isn't really a bad thing as it's usually jazz and if I'm home I'll take my laptop and go down and work in the coffee shop and listen to the band or shoot the shit with the old man.
A little suburb with nice looking houses, a park just down the street, and a creek with a bike trail at the end of the court.
Sometimes I just like to go out into the backyard in the evenings, take a dip into the pool and look at my surroundings. It makes me appreciate the place I was raised for most of my life. It's going to make me sad to leave this place when I finally move out.

Really quiet and peaceful, I live just off a not very busy road near a little farm area. I hear a lot of birds chirping and "COCK A DOODLE DOOOOOO!"s but it's better than noisy neighbours or traffic I suppose.
The neighbours are really friendly and we're always in and out of each others houses, we regularly have street parties and we're having a BBQ tomorrow I think...
Everyone is just really friendly and will do anything for you. Visitors always say we're a lot like Emmerdale because we're a little community.
However, it's too expensive for my tiny one bedroom house and the rent is going up In January, so I won't be here after that which is a shame cause I like it here.
Also I'm at the arse end of nowhere, it's really difficult to rely on buses because they're only every hour or so...
