i loved the 90s supermodels and wish the fashion industry bring back the interesting looking girls they had in the 90s these new girls bore me. I remember back in the 90s when you use to see the models all over tv in movies, commercials, fashion shows, talk shows etc they were gorgeous and had alot of sex appeal.

anyways so whats your opinion on supermodels ? me personally i love them lol or i wouldnt have started this thread. Im not the type of women to get all insecure over the fashion industry, supermodels or the tyoe of women that get shown as attractive by mainstream media

They're glorified mannequins, I don't really consider them anything more.

I don't think about them, I'm not sure why anyone not involved in their industry in some way would.

They're nothing more than mannequins with a pulse.

A monkey can be trained to walk down a runway wearing stupid clothes that nobody in their right mind would wear anywhere than at a 'fashion' show.

I don't mean that in an offensive way, I'm just pointing out the the skill required to do such things.

Well that's just sad, things are always going to be advertised to the "ideal" since the idea of inspirational advertising came in during the 50's. It works better than straight "our stuff is better" advertising.

Well I don't think they're glorified "mannequins" as a few seem to be claiming but i've met a few and some can be real jerks. I get it, you're hot, i'm not, no need to be mean about it. But they're people just like us, no matter how attractive to comparing them to plastic dolls just because of their career choice is odd.

As far as I'm aware it's not always the super pretty ones that make the best models... I don't really have an opinion on models themselves other than they could generally do with putting on few pounds.

What is up with the hair though? Seriously, I get it's dramatic but sometimes it crosses that thin line into Quest que c'est le fuq's-ville...

God, I hate that last one...

This however is the only supermodel folks around here might know...

I believe Edna Mode from The Incredibles put it best:

"'Supermodels,' hah! Nothing 'super' about them! Spoiled, stupid little stick figures with poofy lips that only think about themselves."

When I see the emaciated figures of most supermodels nowadays, my first thought isn't "she's hot." Instead it's "get that girl a cheeseburger, pronto!"

I care what the clothes are, not what they're on. So to me, models are just glorified mannequins, completely replaceable with mannequins.

Don't take me the wrong way as meaning to insult them though. I'm an accountant and I'm pretty sure I'm just a glorified adding machine to many people, it's just opinions.

This is the last subject I would have expected to see on this site, but hey I've got a few things to say about it.

I have no interest in the fashion industry so I don't know about it's history, but from what I see of models now I can find a lot to dislike. They are far too tall and far too skinny. Just not attractive, or even realistic. They just look like giant walking skeleton freaks. And they get far too much respect for what they do. All they do is pose and walk a few feet occasionally. Their existence is for nothing other than to be something to place another person's work on. They should not be respected or idolised for that.

Damnit, I came here to say that...

Anyway: 'huh?!' pretty much is my opinion of them. The clothes are crap, and supermodels are probably some of the least sexy women in the public eye.

I think most are ugly. I fail to see the point of them, just as I fail to see the point of celebrities.

Straight men dont seem to understand that fashion models are not supposed to look attractive to you they are jsut hangers for the close ironically alot of straight men did find the old school pre crack/cocaine thin model attractives because they had hips, breasts and there was only a small difference between them and the average woman.

today majority of americans are obese and alot of models are overweight so there is a large difference between them and the average woman but they are not meant to be found sexually attractive to straight man and every job a woman does is not suppose to appeal to man

you sound pretty sexiest to me honestly

I don't like the whole `eating disorder thing`, but I have nothing against ladies who earn money by being pretty.
