Having a game constantly tell you what the hell to do wayyyy to early into the game play. Shadow Of The Colossus was guilty of this it would be like five min in and they would be lik "THE SECRET LIES WITHIN THE BEAM" ARRGGHHH LET ME TRY AND FIGURE STUFF OUT FOR MYSELF ARRRGGHHHA.

Escort missions.
A thousand times this, I hate guarding NPCs with no sense of self preservation.
Tell me about it, On Shadow Of Rome there is an Arena battle where you have to save 3 women.

They just stand there getting hit with giant pieces of sharp metal, then run around and piss themselves then wait in their own piss for the fat man to come bludgeon her again. These dudes are big and slow and covered in armor,JUST RUN TO THE FUCK DOOR YOU STUPID WHORE!
My nightmares involve a certain whiny, shrill voice screaming "Leon! Help!" At least Sheva shot people that got too close to her...
Am I the only one who never had a problem with Ashley? Hell, Sheva died far more when I played RE5.

Regardless, I also fucking hate escort missions. Especially one particular escort mission in Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner that kept me from finishing the game on Hard mode. God damn the motherfuckers who thought that segment was a good idea.

Having my armor pieces not match.
Yeah that really bugs me too. That or when a game has sets of armor that you can't ever complete. Like the Templar armor in Dragon Age or the Dreugh armor in Morrowind.

Active time events that require i mash buttons.

I have arthritis in my knuckles.

It hurts to mash buttons. The warriors was horrible for this. I don't mind ATE when its just "HIT X NOW MOTHER F***ER!" in fact Kingdom Hearts 2 had a pretty neat function where hitting triangle at the right moment pulled off cool moves.

Its just.. the mashing. My fingers hurt thinking about it.

Oh so very many. QTE's, forced stealth sections in action games, bad voice acting, bad writing, space marines, oversized weapons, incompetent NPC allies... the list goes on.

But the biggest would have to be time limits. Jesus Christ I hate them with a passion.

For some reason I don't really have a problem with escort missions though.

I have an eternal burning hatred for them, especially when it turns out you never needed the character in the first place or they die anyway
I can't fuckng stand them either... oh my god the memories of GTA4... shudder

What gets me even more though is timers. It's such a lame, annoying way of creating tension and I hate it.

That's the problem I have with GTA games.

Most of the missions are escorts.

Gah I hate that!

I hate one man army games. They surround you with team mates, give them weapons, then make me do all the work.

Oh yes, you'll come out of a boss battle and head right towards the save, with very very low health (lets say for the sake of agruement that there is a shop next to the save) and right when you can see it and go YES I CAN MAKE IT I CAN DO IT! a small enemy appears outta nowhere and rapes your ass like pedobear on steroids.

Time limits and lackluster rewards at the end of really difficult tasks.

Most of the missions are escorts.
Plus the friendly AI is alway suicidal with a tiny health bar.

the whole 'futuristic FPS' thing (minus Fallout), I'm sick of fucking space marines.

Developers who think they have a good idea and ruin a game or series

Between awful voice acting, and annoying support characters.
I still remember that kid in Fable 1 that you can sacrifice to the first sprite/fairy/thing you find when his grandmother sent me after him. I was all for helping the kid. Then I heard his shrill voice, screaming because I was fighting something fifty feet away. It took true good-hero perseverance not to mince him. I didn't care if I could mute the game, he was still making the noise! I just knew it.

Other than that, idiot AI of weak escort characters (I'm looking at you Dead Rising, regardless of how awesome you are)... And one-hit kills. That stupid exploding crossbow thing in Gears of War 2 got SO annoying.

Times in which you are required do do something, yet have not been told about said element in the game so far. You are then forced to use trial and error to figure out what you are supposed to do.
