I am curious to see what peoples favurite characters are? Me and my friends have been playing these games religously since the origenal so we are really competitive and love this series. I was just curious whats your lineup of favurite or best characters?

meta knight is broken but snake isn't, the only problem with snake is he is amazing in every single field you could argue he isnt fast but even still his dash gets him across most stages fast enough plus you can just dodge across the stage. Either way I agree with you tho if you are a good player it doesnt matter you should still be able to win all my friends play snake and I always manage.

Pikachu 'till the day I die, give him that Emerald headband and we're in business. My number twos are Marth and Samus, but they got nerfed in Brawl. Lucario is probably next up.

More for melee then brawl, but frankly I don't really have a "character for CPs" in Brawl, I just play marth with Ganondorf (my second best char) for occasional trolling since he's... bad.

Personally I always use Snake, I find him to be a character that is hard to master, but if you are able to you can dominate nearly every field against most opponents. Though generally I like varying and playing as more or less all characters. There are only two characters I NEVER play and that is Pit and Link.

Landing a Falcon Punch or a Falcon Knee is just so satisfying. Ganondorf's extreme contrast to Captain Falcon's speed, and his Flame Choke move make him a welcome change of pace from playing as the Captain. Fox's Reflector is always fun to send charged shots back at enemy Samuses.

Only ones I don't really use are Peach and Wario. The rest I pick at random, changing after each fight and taking at least 5 fights between each character usage. I don't fight to win, I fight to have the most epic kills so Captain Falcon and Gannon are among the more frequent fighters.

When shit gets real and I want to throw down some pain, my go to guys are:

I've gotten pretty good with all of those guys, although after Luigi I start to perform significantly worse with MR.GW and ROB. Ike's too much fun and my friends never beat me when I'm Ike, unless I'm suffering a large handicap %. Ganondorf is also a favorite, but I get the hell beat outta me a lot when I choose him..

Also, I suck terribly with Meta Knight.

Marth as my serious first choice.

Samus as my second.

I'll try other characters but those are my two best.
