Many of the samples used for Golden Axe and its sequel were taken from the movies 'Rambo - First Blood' and 'Conan'.

More specific when you kill bad guys sometimes they scream something like 'Oooh God!' which was taken from Rambo at the scene which takes place in the forest when one of the policemen fell into a trap and gets impaled by sharp pieces of wood.

The sample used for the man who gets trampled by a bad guy in Golden Axe and the scream of Death-Adder when falling from the dragon at the final scene of "Golden Axe - Revenge of Death-Adder" was taken from the policeman who also fell from the helicopter pursuing Rambo.

Finally the battle cry used for the big baddies when they die in Golden Axe and the scream for the big chained green monster on "Golden Axe - Revenge of Death-Adder" on stage 3 are the same and taken from Conan's scene where Arnold Schwarzenegger fights the two villains on a Stonehenge like background and again one of them gets impaled by a trap.

Also Tyris Flare's death sound it from the Monty Python Film "and now for something completely different" when the prince who lives beyond the collywobbles dies.

Little known fact:
Most people say that Half-Life 2 uses Havok physics. While there is truth to this, it would be improper to say that HL2 uses the same physics as say, Halo 2 or Doom 3. Valve took Havok, and added to it as well as changing much of the code. Source is almost in its own right, its own physics engine.

In Phoenix Wright 3, Prosecutor Godot's name is taken from an old myth called "Waiting for Godot".

Half-Life 2's story changed significantly in development. For a long time, they planned to include a trip on a ship called the Borealis, and even a flight on an airship. Captain Vance, a militaristic rebel leader, and Alyx's father, were also eventually combined into one character.

Heres one;

Because F.E.A.R. and Condemned both take place in the same city "Metro City", there is a rumor that you can see the point man from FEAR and/or Alma at some point during the first Condemned game.

An observation on fighting games over the years:

Generally speaking, the women characters are often 25 years old and younger, while the men characters are of all ages above and below 25. Strangely enough, any woman character older than 25 by the next game of the series is considered "too old" to appear again, yet men characters in their elderly years can appear without compromise. (Prime examples: The Tekken, Dead or Alive, and Virtua Fighter series)

If you spin the sticks around a lot in the Survival Viewer in Metal Gear Solid 3, you can get dizzy and throw up.
That actually almost happened to me when I was a little drunk while playing. I did it in codec view though and tried to look Snake in the eyes for 20 minutes.

Sonic the Hedgehog was actually the result of an in-house competition SEGA held to develop a character that could rival the dominance of Mario. Alex Kidd just wasn't cutting it...

Also, Half Life 2's physics engine apparently contains the Grand Unified Theory in which all aspects of physics are implemented via a single equation.

If a game is riddled with bugs, it's probably not the testers fault.

The QA team for EA's Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire found over 15,000 bugs, of which only about 8000 were fixed.

Sonic was actually supposed to be a bunny that'd hop onto enemies' heads in a more slow paced manner. When noticing similarities with a certain plumber, they redesigned him into what we know today.

The entire concept (looks, attitude, ideals, ect) of Angeal from Crisis core was the original concept for Cloud strife in Final fantasy 7. Apparently though the designers wanted a more troubled character so they came up with what we see in cloud today and thus angeal inherited clouds original design.

Kano was a Japanese-American mix in the original Mortal Kombat game. However, after the popularity of Trevor Goddard's movie Kano, the creators changed his nationality to Australian for MKIII.

Kano's appearance was inspired by The Terminator.

Raiden was based off of the character "Lightning" from Big Trouble in Little China .

Liu Kang was based off of Bruce Lee.

Sonya Blade was partially based off of Cynthia Rothrock.

Johnny Cage was originally based off of Jean-Claude Van Damme.

In the game Sim Copter, a game by Sim City creator Maxis, a disgruntled, gay programmer put men kissing and grabbing other men in the game as a form of social protest against what he saw as the hetero-centric nature of Sim Copter. 78,000 shipped before the easter egg was discovered and fixed.

I must have bought copy 78,000. Nobody else seemed to see that... course it's been the better part of a decade since I've played.

There is speculated links between Sonic 3's music and Micheal Jackson apparently having worked on many of the most iconic tracks.

It's kinda hard to explain well in text so more detailed information can be found here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbVM-l2Oku4
Oh my. I have never heard those "new" tracks for Carnival, Ice Cap, or Launch Zone, but then, my tracks are still locked in genuine Genesis cartridges. Anyway, useless trivia: the reason Sonic and Knuckles doesn't work with Sonic 1 is, and this is a bad reason in my opinion, the correct red of Knuckles isn't in Sonic 1's color palette, so rather than a mis-colored echidna, or slightly recolored other things, the project was dropped.

8D; it's actually a play by Samuel Beckett, and if you read it and study what the play could possibly mean (a phrase used constantly as ... we're not quite sure wtf the play is about. Beckett didn't help matters by being so cagey with his answers) it does explain why Godot speaks the way he does, if he was based on a play like that. :) Two homeless men spend two days waiting for Godot, and engage in a strange conversation of play on words, nonsensical games, and a strange world created by their waiting.

The creative directors of TWEWY are seen in the additional chapter called "Another day" and are Tin Pin Masters. I could only identify Tetsuya Nomura, and he was in A-East, you can get the tin pin shiva from him.
