This forum really applies to people who are addicted in some way to gaming, if your here to talk about another addiction or to laugh at us, please leave and then go jump off of progressively higher object.

The question is simple: What game/story/etc. got you addicted to games and gaming? Any kind of games, any form of ELECTRONIC games, if your addicted to chess, or monopoly follow the other addicts.

For me it was a game for my Nintendo Gameboy Color. And like anybody else addicted from one it was a Pokemon game, and I feel good about that.

Mine was orginally Dungeon keeper 2 and then when i got Diablo 2 thats when i really got addicted to playing video games. Before that though it was the countless hours spent on my Sega master system playing Sonic and some Ninja game (cant quite remember its name though).

Christmas '88. Getting an NES probably did more to stunt my academic growth than any other single factor.

EDIT: On the bright side, it probably also kept me from getting a sexually transmitted disease or a child because I was too busy playing video games to show any interest in girls.

Command and conquer red alert for windows 98 ah that game was so good but I never could understand why the soviets got a huge ass tank but the allies only got some woman with two pistols.

I had a C64, which was fun, and an Atari 2600, which was also fun... many hours playing trying to get further to the right of the screen.

but what truely got me addicted was Metroid, I used all my previous game logic to beat that game but it confounded me by making me go to the left too, it was madness at the time, gave me lots of headaches, then came Streets of Rage, and thats it, I was finished with the outside world.

August 17 1987. My oldest cousin gave me his NES with Metroid for my birthday, I was hooked right off the bat, and although there was a time between 1995 and 2000 that gaming took a plunge in my personal life, I went back to it full steam when I bought a used N64 in the summer of 2000, I've never looked back since.

There was a game called "Space Station Theta" in the early 90's. . .puzzle solving game, and the first one i'd seen where you could build your own levels. It started there. Marathon sealed the deal.
