When did you get glasses?

When I was around 13-14, and I was stubborn about wearing them. Then I realized how damn blind I am. I don't think I'd be able to properly function in a day without them now. I'm nearsighted as hell. I literally couldn't read this post with ease without my glasses as I type it.

One of the bad traits I've adopted from my grandmother. Although gaming hasn't helped it at all either.

Thanks for thinking of me!!

We talked about it (me + doctor) and because of these fancy prisms they have to put into the glasses, it would cost thousands++ for one pair (my glasses are ALREADY crazy expensive!), plus they might not blend well. I agreed to two pairs. I'm just so excited to be SO close to reading again!!

My eyes always changed every year, contacts helped. Everything was under control. Don't worry about ending up with my craziness some day - it's a rare neurological disorder (intracranial hypertension) that caused a ton of fluid to enter my optic nerve and damage them. Before that I was just a happy go lucky contact lens wearer who sometimes wore her glasses to kick back and geek out!!
... you're welcome! ^_^

Still, the first thing I thought of just then, was that you could absolutely nerd out, chop the lenses apart, stick them back together again... only making one massive pair... right, this is starting to sound silly now... apologies!

And I'm sorry to hear about your condition... hope it doesn't get any worse. (Fingers crossed for myself as well, actually, seeing as how my right eye has been steadily deteriorating for most of my life.)

I had to get glasses when I was 6 or so. Supposedly I was growing so fast my eyes couldn't catch up, or something like that.

I use contacts now. People say I look better without glasses than with.

Soon.

I need glasses but I keep putting off going to the opticians.
It's crazy when you put your first pair of glasses on, it's like all of sudden IRL is in HD. It's harder to creep on sexy people when they're all blurry, too. If you're near-sighted anyway.

I got mine a couple of months ago. I hadn't thought much about it until I started working in the Wal-Mart Vision Center. I found that I needed glasses for reading and computer work, but found out that if I wear them all the time my migraines go away.

I think I was 11 or 12. I still only wear them for computering, book-reading and game-playing. And sitting in lecturesing.
I hate how stark and filthy the world looks in 20/20 vision.

I had a visible problem with my eyes at birth- they turned at an angle, or something along those lines- so I had people dicking about with them from day one. Consequently, I do not have any memories in which I am not wearing, holding, looking at or accidentally breaking a pair of glasses.

I don't even need to wear them permanently anymore, I'm just used to it. I take them off, people I know tell me I look weird.

I first needed glasses when I was about 12(9 years ago), my vision literally went overnight, and by quite a bit. I was gutted, I don't like wearing my glasses and much prefer contacts.

Oh I know, the only reason I realised I needed glasses was because I was screwing around at college and put on my friends glasses and found everything was 10x clearer.

Got mine first year at university when I realised I couldn't read any of the stuff the lecturers were writing (or showing on projector screens.)

I was 19, I think.

I got mine when I was about 15, cause I never said to anybody that I couldn't see that well, I thought it was normal. lol.
I was the same way - I had no idea what clear vision was supposed to look like until I went to the eye doctor when I was about 15 and realized I have shit vision.

Flawless eyesight, so far...

It's been a while since my last test; about 3 years though.

Hopefully, never.

I think I got them when I was eight or something. When I was 24, I forked out the 4K for laser eye surgery and have never looked back.

See what I did there?
