Last January actually, age 15.

Possibly from retina damage of that damned melatonin I've been taking...

Protip: Don't take melatonin for sleep, fucks with you big time.

I don't have glasses... yet.

I'm currently 17 and my vision that used to be 20/20 6 years ago is getting worse and worse. My right eye is short-sighted but my left eye is still fine so I don't need glasses.

Seeing as almost all of my family needs glasses I can't expect myself to not need them at some point in the near future.

I got mine about 4 years ago, and it's the same reason you're getting yours, my vision was going slowly to hell. Thankfully they haven't changed much at all since then, so that makes me very happy.
Yeah, I sit in front of the computer a lot. Sometimes in the dark, which isn't helping my eye sight. Hah!
[sub] I should really turn on a light...[/sub]
Haha me too and I'm in the dark pretty much all the time, it can't be helped. Funny part is I don't need my glasses when I sit at my computer, which is kinda annoying since I sometimes forget where I put my glasses....

I got glasses in the middle of last summer, but whenever I'm at home I'll usually take them off because they're dirty and I'm too apathetic to clean them.

I got my glasses when I was about 9 years old, and my vision has gotten worse since, settling in on absolutely terrible nearsightedness.
I wore contacts for sports and such and then most all the time for the past two years until I switched back recently, embracing my geekiness and figuring glasses go with the gig.
I still wear contacts for sports.

Welcome to the club, let's play How Blind Have You Become?
Without my glasses I cannot read the text of this post from more than 9 inches away.

About two and a half months ago. I've had bad vision for a while but was finally able to do something about it. Went in for an eye exam and found out I have an astigmatism and am nearsighted. The week it took for my glasses to come in was the longest week ever.

'Bout a few months ago, don't really need 'em, but they make it easier to read the school whiteboard from across the room so hey, why not?

I got mine when I was 5 (Staying up reading late into the night with poor light conditions LIKE A BAWSS). I can remember a time when the only way I knew I'd forgotten my glasses was when I would look at the clock in the cafeteria and realize it was blurry. Now, I'm practically blind without them. Colors, shapes and stuff is fine, but I can't read anything further than 3-4 inches away.

Ten years ago. I began wearing contacts a year later, but I've stopped using them recently. They make my eyes sore and give me headaches after I've been looking at a computer screen for a while, so I bought some attractive glasses for everyday use and only wear contacts on special occasions.

I've had mine since I was 12. So about 6 (coming up on 7) years. I have got slightly stronger prescriptions twice in that time and it wouldn't surprise me if I needed another one in a year or so. I'm fine with them though. The only thing that really irritates me is cleaning them if I'm out when it's raining or if I get something on them.

I got reading glasses when I was about 8, but after a year or so with them plus prescribed eye exercises, my eyes improved to the point I no longer needed glasses. Never had any since, although with the amount I read I'm quite sure I'll need to get them again one day.

I used to have reading glasses like two years ago, I think, to help my eye-strain issues... But I quit wearing them / lost them / found them and they were broken. Haven't really had any problems in a while though. :O Except I'm really light sensitive, which are where sunglasses come in handy.

Back in my first year of high school

At first I really didn't want glasses. I thought they would ruin my life.

Then I got them, and my first words were "HOLY CRAP I CAN SEE!" (Ok, that's not EXACTLY what I said, but close enough)

Same. Fortunately, I look pretty much the same, whether I'm wearing glasses or not.
