Dude good idea....can u still play the games without the disks if you install them to your hard drive?.grimsprice said:Nope. 3 years old, and mine is still spinning pretty. Mostly because i install my discs to the hard drive to keep it from spinning. Saves wear and tear.
True thatMercurySteam said:That's how good they areAlexanderAstartes said:Still love it, two years now. I had my first one stolen a few months back, but it never failed before then![]()

Thank you! I was wondering does anyone see how perverted the logic in this discussion is?VanityGirl said:These topics are so boring and dumb. Why give up on any console?
I want to see the topic that just says: When did you just get tired of mainstream garbage, give up gaming and go outside?
*sigh*
I own a PS3, 360 and half own a Wii. (My boyfriend and I share the Wii.) I would not give up any of the consoles if they had a problem.
Why? Because I'm a gamer and I love playing games. If my PS3 messed up because of some update (it did), then I would just get it fixed or replace it. I wouldn't say, "stupid piece of garbage, this is why Sony's a terrible company" blah blah.
My 360's broke on me and I just send it in to get fixed. Tadah! Problem solved, no money out of my pocket, I'm happy.
Never had a problem with the Wii. XD
The PS3 has exclusives I like and I will continue to play it, my 360 has exclusives I like and I will continue to play it, my Wii has exclusives I like and I will continue to play it.
Do you see a pattern?

Granted it has the technology and everything obviously new about it, but it was just a carbon copy to it's predecessor.
The lesson here is not "Xbox sucks, get a PS3".wooty said:I gave microsoft 2 more chances after my first 360 decided to "let go of the disk" in the drive and let it spin round like Sonic the damn hedgehog, shatter my copy of FIFA 08 and crack the lens
and the other 2 were red rings
according to my PS3's gamestation warranty, I gave up on the 360 on the 17th April 2009 at 14:23
lol, thats accuracy for ya
How cute, did you forget that consoles cost money? You complain that threads like this are stupid and then proceed to ask "Why give up on any console?" A question that is in itself stupid since consoles and indeed gaming in general cost money and time. If someone had a car that constantly broke down or otherwise did not satisfy them would it be surprising, if said individual went out and got a different car or started taking the train or bus more? I hate to state the obvious but just because you are happy doesn't mean that other people are. Especially when you consider just ho overwhelmingly bad the overall failure rate for the 360 is.VanityGirl said:These topics are so boring and dumb. Why give up on any console?

You could, I don't know, what's that word? Save. I've saved up for my first 360, my second 360(An Elite. I gave, read that, GAVE my brother my first one)and just recently built my gaming PC which would put many others to shame, if you save your money, instead of buying into the next fad(iPod, Blackberry. I have a Zen and a cheap Samsung myself, both paid for by myself again), buying crappy food(such as McDonalds)or generally wasting it then you would have the money. I have enough money to buy a PS3 and a Wii, heck, I have enough to buy my own car, but I don't want to, I don't need to, my 360 and PC keep me happy and everywhere important I have to go is within reach by bus, train or walking(I walk everywhere), may have to buy one once I graduate though to travel places for interviews and the like. My parents have been saving for me since the day I was born and I've been saving the day I got my job, all of 5+ years ago, there's really no excuse, people have no willpower or control over their money anymore.shadow skill said:How cute, did you forget that consoles cost money? Divide the money you originally spent on the console by the estimated number of hours enjoyment you have had out of it? Was it worth it?Flytch said:In the space of three days my brothers 360 red-ringed while mine spontaneously decided to no longer accept any form of disc. It was my second. Has anyone else reached a point where they have given Microsoft the metaphorical two fingers and given up, if so, what caused it?
The console does a complimentary disc check. So you do need the disc in the console. But its just a piracy check, and it promptly stops spinning. And there's another plus! The console makes less noise!SweetNess_666 said:Dude good idea....can u still play the games without the disks if you install them to your hard drive?.grimsprice said:Nope. 3 years old, and mine is still spinning pretty.
