When does one "win" a forum argument?

Do you have to have the last word to win? Or can one sit in silence and comfortably know that onlookers will see their opponent flailing for ground to stand on, even if it's hidden beneath an ocean of abuse and flawed logic?

Because I like winning, but I don't like repeating myself...

No one wins. Either one quits and decides not to waste their time arguing with fools or they both keep arguing like idiots.

Well to win an argument when the opponent starts name calling and don't provide any other information. That or when you actually win with, my mom is bigger than yours.

The irony of arguing on this thread is nearly overwhelming, but I would like to point out the glaring flaws in your arguments.

1. I spelled racism correctly, well done on attempting to pick out a spelling error and proving your stupidity.

2. Here's a quote from you "any silly american or silly english person thing...Shut Up." How is that not racism, especially considering you were probably making wild guesses as to his nationality.

3. In that paragraph you also said Halo 3 and Madden sucks which was blatant trolling, considering it had nothing to do with the topic.

4. Calling someone a stupid little ***** is not an argument.

To sum up, I feel sorry for you and the fact that I can't tell if you are joking or trolling makes me think that you need to reconsider your priorities. Also, if you really think you won that or this argument, the pity deepens.

No one ever loses or wins an internet arguement because no one ever admits they're wrong. So the only way to win an arguement is for the other person to die.

You've already won if you're in an argument against someone less popular on that forum than you are.

People will back you, and eventually the wall of incoming abuse from your "fans" will force your opponent to back down. Maybe you were right, maybe you were wrong, it doesn't matter, internet arguments are never a matter of logic, intelligence and argument skils.

This is how I would judge the winner of a Forum Arguement.

I used to win many a disagreement on the WoW forums by slowly twisting my argument until it was such a complete pile of nonsense that the other person had no clue what we were originally talking about.

It's suprising how much that works.
