Usually on any JRPG. Robotic ninja warriors are way cooler than angsty, spikey black haired guys who look like girls/cocky, spikey blonde guys who live with their kind-hearted gramps and start the game by oversleeping.

Given that I am a massive literary fag I'm going to say Paradise Lost, where Satan was so much cooler than God it basically spawned a whole new branch of Satanism,

The evil ones are almost always cooler than the good ones... The good ones tend to be so... Good! And glorified good guys are even worse! The evil ones I love when are glorified cause it makes them even more evil in a way.

Enclave<Brotherhood of Steel, The Empire<Rebels, CIS<The Republic, Axis<Allied(in games anyway =p), PAC<EU, MEC<US, Sith<Jedi...

I'll leave the rest for you people, I got to go now =)

I think Yahtzee talked about this.

Its better to be evil when your not ment to be, but when people expect you to be evil its just... lame.

Well in every JRPG because the good guys are always power of friendship, flower power, and angsty teenage snots that are the culmination of everything good in the world with an angsty emo centre.

Usually they have cooler uniforms and more likeable leaders, that's why.
One exception may be Freedom Force- I mean, c'mon, Supercollider is just fucking awesome.
And Minuteman has the sweetest of all hats.

On the Enclave: they were cool ('specially Eden) but I thought their helmets just looked stupid. The old T-51 and T-whatever (BoS general issue) look spectacularly more badass. (even if the BoS are sissies)

I don't find playing evil characters to be fun. The cognitive dissonance almost always ruins it...Except when I am killing elves. But elves just deserve to die.

All the synth units in Half-Life. They look awesome.

Also, Richard from LFG, anyone? (though he may or may not count as evil - or not)

I always find it much easier to be evil in games, Which I find kinda odd. Why make it so difficult to be good? And what about when faced with a moral dilemma? The bad option is always the easiest solution, or the most logical. Do you risk you life to save two people or do you do something that will kill the bad guy but sacrifice the people? or leave the bad guy to die or save him even though doing that may just cause more trouble.

SW Battlefront 2: The Jedi Temple mission.

Most badass, epic, glorious, wonderful, EVIL mission ever.

Really, why Lucasarts decided to do a sequel of their FU game instead of giving us BFIII with space-AND-land battles (with say, 64-player online) is beyond me.

Can you imagine online, 50 people as the clones, with maybe 100 more AI clones, going zerg rush on 10 jedi? It's AWWWWWWWW RIIIIIGHT

Evil will always be cooler if the story has either good=pure (and therefore nieve, moronic and childlike) or good=law (and therefore stagnant and ineffectual) as its way of defining good.
