The Enclave were cool, and any game with the Waffen-SS as enemies. Their trenchcoats... SO cool.
Because that would only serve to further isolate us from an already distant society. If I'm a dick in game, nobody but myself needs to know. If I'm a dick in real life, I risk losing my job, my friends and any social standings I my have once had.ostro-whiskey said:How come in games you glorify being Evil but in RL you dont laugh at the assholes dieing in Haiti or talk about how awesome the Serbian massacre of Muslims was.
Is it some sort of Societal immasculation that has had you stow your balls away in the overhead compartment of condsideration and tolerance.
So basically its because you dont have the balls to be able to do what you want, yea seems to fit in with the reason I gave.Shanecooper said:Because that would only serve to further isolate us from an already distant society. Big words. You know what happens to 'evil' people in real life? Mostly they get imprisoned for life or get killed, depending on the country. In a video game, if you're a homicidal douchebag, you're not actually hurting anyone. You're just killing 1s and 0s. In real life if you kill someone, you're taking away decades of experience and emotion in an instant. That shit's real. So no, I don't think it's because he has no balls, I think it's because he's not a complete fucking idiot.ostro-whiskey said:So basically its because you dont have the balls to be able to do what you want, yea seems to fit in with the reason I gave.Shanecooper said:Because that would only serve to further isolate us from an already distant society. At the beginning of time, good and evil made an agreement. Evil would be totally badass and cool while good was dorky and corny and in exchange good would always win, but the bad guy would get away to fight another day so things didn't get boring.Altorin said:evil is always cooler then good
good is always better then evil
that is the way it goes.
It has nothing to do with victimization, it is about the hypocritical glorification of "evil". It doesnt matter whether the people are real or not, the character (the evil one) is viewed positively because they throw morality to the wind and have the freedom to act out their intentions. It has nothing to do with murder, the mere fact that you are so concerned about going against what society deems as right that makes you a coward.Angerwing said:Big words. OT: I think the Empire in Star Wars: Battlefront 2 is way better than the rebellion, but not in much else. That's just my opinion though.
Well then, by that logic, most people could be considered evil. I don't do what society deems right, I do act like a prick when it isn't likely to get me fired or evicted. There are times when I act like a dick just for the sake of acting like a dick. Does that qualify for you?ostro-whiskey said:It has nothing to do with victimization, it is about the hypocritical glorification of "evil". Yes that does qualify, although from the state of your response I wouldnt have guessed. Also most people are not considered "evil" because they subscribe to this societal conditioning and behavioural regulations, from what Ive noticed anyway.Shanecooper said:Well then, by that logic, most people could be considered evil.
