You mean, like the game making me frustrated? Or something in the game making me genuinely enraged?

For the first...a few of the fighting ring missions in God Hand were ungodly difficult (especially that goddamn 0:15 one on level DIE).

For the second...well, I was screaming in silent fury at certain characters in A Drug That Makes You Dream. Also, during a certain moment in Crescendo, I wanted to crush the windpipes of a certain group of rapists, disembowel them, and listen to them try to scream their lives away. And when the main antagonist of Symphonic Rain did something I never would have expected...well, I was too livid for words or concepts.

Discounting stuff that is computer cheating hard (mostly fighting games vs AI), the only game that has made me angry was Rogue Galaxy. The setting and first two acts were so good, but at the start of Act 3 it all fell to ruin. Biggest disappointment I've ever had in a game and it riles me up even now.

I know people are gonna be angry but I hated the Story/Plot of Shadow of the Colossus. I just couldn't justify the reason to kill all those Colossus just to save 1 life.

Diablo 2.

Hardcore mode.

Hell difficulty.

Fire+Cold enchanted special monsters upon death = many unexpected insta deaths
And that is why I love my Summon Necro. My army of death can handle him while I go hide far, far away from the nova blast lol.

OT: Aside from the usual online FPS games that everyone gets worked up over, the other thing that makes me rage is Zerg/Zealot rushing in Star Craft 1&2. I can usually handle a Terran rush, but Zergs out number & outproduce me and Zealots just flat out kick ass.

My third post in here but i was thinking on this one and it still pisses me off.

In EndWar, you pick from an assortment of battalions the one you will use for your entire single-player campaign, and they have different specializations (an Armored battalion has more tank squads and fewer infantry squads, for example). Now i'd picked up the EndWar strategy guide which has a list of all the battalions, their commanding officers and their unit counts, and i'd noticed that every battle pits you against one of those officers and their (in theory) specialized battalion.

Having grown quite frustrated with the downright AI cheating on Hardcore difficulty and the easiness of Normal, i've been trying to get better at Veteran to the point of someday tackling Hardcore again, at least for the accompishment. And here i'm thinking, hey i could plan individual battles based this 'intel' on my opponents, like i'd be taking on an Airborne battalion with the knowledge they only have a single Transport unit, so knocking it out should give me an edge in the air for spamming Gunships.

So i start the great experiment, opposite an Airborne with my tactic to locate and destroy his lone Transport unit. Up til now i hadn't payed much attention to the different types of battalions under enemy use and about the only predictable tactic of theirs was to rush with a Gunship flight, which duly happens and i duly shred them from the skies. A little bit later i spot their Transport, got my Artillery on the field and let them have it, with a squad of Engineers in a building keeping them too busy to dodge the fire. They get taken out, evac bird grabs the survivors, my Gunships move out across the map on the hunt...

And then i see it, another Transport unit rolling forward, catches my Gunships and tears em apart before i can do much about it, i'm thinking its possible the survivors were quickly put in new vehicles and sent out again, but it seems pretty soon for it... i smash them too, and then made sure of them by completely killing the unit before the evac bird arrived, figuring there's no way they're coming back...

A minute later as im consolidating my positions and holding off everything else the enemy is throwing at me, not one but TWO new Transport units appear, rolling to certain doom against my lines but i'm raging too much to care.

TL;DR, my whole strategy to get better at EndWar by outsmarting the enemy AI fell apart when the game refused to play by the rules.

Street fighter 4 online, i have never been that angry in my life, when you see an uppercut spamming ken you think, "i know how to deal with this" and then mistime every single move and eat 20 shoryukens.

That sucks man...

You would think a game that bases its entire gameplay on the difference between battalions would keep too its guidelines...

obviously not however

What the fuck, Rock Band 2. What the fuck. The song isn't even good (in fact, it's easily one of the worst songs I've ever heard, it's just awful), so the satisfaction of hitting the notes and hearing the song as it's meant to be heard just isn't there.

When i was pretty young i was trying to beat super nova(snes) which is pretty difficult fighter and i succeeded for the first time in nearing the end levels. I died, after which i calmly took out my cartridge, walked outside the front door with it, walked a few hundred feet from the house, simply set the cartridge down on the ground and then returned to my room with a blank stare.

I would imagine in the Theater of War and multiplayer modes versus other players the battalion differences would come into play a lot, but since i reserve my online gaming to the FPS genre i was quite annoyed at the AI being too unpredictable and yet woefully generic at the same time. Knowing is half the battle right, but it won't do jack in EndWar's campaign, although it really should because the game itself gives you briefings on your opponent before every engagement and singles out their most likely tactic, but inevitably you can't ever rely on them to play ball.

Someone earlier mentioned the checkpoints in Bad Company 2, definitely agree there. The first game's system was set up where if you died, you'd respawn back at your last autosave point, but anything you did between then and dying still counted, so it was just a matter of walking or driving back to where you died. Also the first game's campaign in general was a lot better in many areas, and the multiplayer has tried too hard to be CoD6.

But the one thing above all else that has made me rage over BC2 (and i can't believe i didn't think of it until now) is THE LACK OF CONTINUITY. BC1 ended in such a way that NOTHING about how BC2 begins makes any sense. They also changed the personalities of the main characters and gave them shitty cuss-ridden dialogue rather than their laid-back humor of the first one, it just blows.

1. Mass Effect 2, playing through the game as a Vanguard on Insanity.

I hit a snag during the mission when you enter the seemingly disabled Collector ship, activate the command console for EDI, and get ambushed by wave after waves of Collectors along with two rotating Scions. For some reason when it comes to the Collectors and their floating platforms(after they land), biotic charge only works when it FEELS like it. Had to give it 17 tries before I got through it -_-

2. Odin Sphere, towards the end of Velvet's story when you fight Beldor and Belial. Still haven't beaten it >_<

3. Dragon Age II and it's BRILLIANT "enemies come in waves" design philosophy.
