When I'm Sixty-Four... would I still be a gamer?

Where do you see yourself in old age, or not-as-old-as-64 age? Would you still be gaming?
Would you still have your gaming system now, the way some may keep their N64 or their Pong? Doing the garden, digging the weed?

I actually can't imagine me playing video games while my wrinkled hands carry a controller or move a mouse. Sure I'd play with others, but I probably wouldn't be playing as much as I do now.

I think the time one dedicates to gaming will decrease with age, job, responsibility, family, etc..etc..

I don't know how long I'll be keeping my gaming gear up, probably for the next three years till I hit 25. Then stop or reduce dramatically. The appeal of games will only last for so long. I don't even know about gaming at 64.

Yeah, why not? I've been playing games for roughly twenty-six years already, and it's worked out fine so far. And who says I'll need to wrap my shaky, arthritic hands around a controller? Surely by the time I'm sixty-four, technology will have advanced to the point where you can have the game beamed into your head or something.

Don't worry about this too much; it's a 'correlation does not equal causation' thing. Turns out people who suffer from joint pain tend to crack their joints more often as an attempt to alleviate the discomfort. Doesn't mean you won't get arthritis, but cracking your joints probably won't CAUSE arthritis.

OT: Unless I get really, really jaded, I'll probably still enjoy an occasional FPS or RPG in my gray years. Doubly so if VR becomes mainstream. Triply so if Yahtzee's foretold 'force-feedback codpiece' is ever realized.

Actually, if my career shapes up the way it's been shaping up so far, I might not have time to play games again until I'm retired anyway.

It just makes you more backstabbing and evil in multiplayers games.

I doubt I will be. I recently saw a 40 year old bald dude playing halo online by himself and felt kind of sad for him.

I love games, but I find them to be far less captivating then they used to be and expect that this trend will continue. Besides, typically I only play games when I am out of books to read.

Why not? Most old people probably don't play games because when they were kids, it wasn't a common thing to do. However, when I'm old seems like the best time to game it up: life is probably pretty shitty (compared to what I have now) and you most likely aren't up for a game of football or soccer.
